Corey Anderson

Not to put blame all on anderson but he has dropped balls through the season. He let pass against LSU go through his hands while running down the sidelines unnoticed. Two dropped passes against UAB and one against georgia. Leave him to blocking but dont design pass/run plays for him. He has proven to be a liablility more than a threat.

No way is the loss his fault. Think about this. The Bama game and the Gator game, both times, first down inside the 5, line jumped, end of game. Coaching inabilty to have players play with discipline. The defense under Chavis rarely make penalties especially game causing penalties! It appears to me that once a week for a solid practice, we should practice on NOT MAKING PENALTIES FOR THE ENTIRE PRACTICE. You make a penalty next game, you get replaced for several series of plays!Apparently the penalties aren't being addressed in practice!

Im not blaming anderson for the loss. There were alot of things that attributed to the loss. Im only saying keep the ball out of his hands and leave him to blocking. He has had numberous chances handling the ball and is a liability. The guy can not simply hold onto the football especially recieving.

I have been preaching this all year..
I knew it was going to happen...
Now who's the better fullback???
I rest my case..
My nephew wouldn't have fumbled that football..
He would have caught the ball at LSU also
I been watching this kid ever since he was 6...
Anderson sucks and I don't care what you guys say about this comment.
I just wanted to prove my point on who is best FB and who will have the better career at UT Holbert or Anderson...
HOLBERT baby!!!
He made the best of his opportunity when he played Saturday..
He opened alot of holes for Arian...
Don't sleep on him.
And for all the people who made those comments after the LSU game about there being no comparison between Holbert and Anderson. Holbert won this round....

I can think of a lot of plays anderson didnt make the play....cant think of any I remember him making a play. The Bama player that forced the fumble on him that was pure luck, any1 whos ever played the game organized would say so, but he IMO constantly dissappoints.

I wouldnt argue with that, except i dont think CA sucks, his hands have let us down and more than once this season.
Is Holbert 100%? I know he's been dinged up, but did play saturday. As much as i hate it for CA, Im eager to move on and hope we do see Holbert a great bit saturday.
Im sure he's ready to go, his TD reception against the cocks last season should have him looking for #2. We all hope he gets it.

For once, I have to agree with the gator.  In a close game, no one person can be blamed.  No one play can be blamed.  I blame Riggs' fumble in the first quarter as much as I blame CAs fumble at the end of the game.  If Riggs hadnt fumbled and UT went in to score, CAs fumble wouldnt have meant much.

What about Taylors fumbled punt?  What about Fosters fumble?  WHat about all the penalties in the red zone?    Theres plenty of blame to go around here.

Amen to that. All of our Rbs had a fumble in that game. The O-line still has critical penalties. Beating a dead horse here but we need some changes. Both in players and coaches.

Perhaps your nephew would have not.

The fact that you don't care about our comments, in light of your devoted campaign and self-serving posts, is testimony to the fact that David Holbert would be much better off with you either doing one of two things.

Or both.

Shutting the hell up and quit embarassing him.

That fumble was very unfortunate but giving the guy unmitigated hell is not what needed. He was doing his best to get across the goal line. The lick he took would have likely caused anyone to fumble.

That one bad play did not lose the ballgame. Riggs' fumble did not lose the ballgame. What lost the ballgame was our complete inability to complete a pass longer that 8-10 yards.
The inept passing game has been our achilles heal all year.

Go Vols, Beat the Hell out or the Olde Visor Coach

all of you guys are forgetting the ball CA ripped from the linebackers hands to save an interception in the 1st half of the LSU game, if they had scored then we most likely would not have been able to make that comeback. THAT ONE PLAY DID NOT LOSE THE GAME>>> OUR UNIDENTIFIED OFFENSE DID!

I feel bad for Corey. If he was pushing through a crowd of players, I could understand why he should have had his arms wrapped around the ball so they couldn't strip it from him. He was heading straight for the endzone with hardly anyone around him and out of the blue this Bama player hits him hard. I'm proud of his effort and I don't blame him one bit for the loss. It was just one of those things that happen. We held the #5 team in the nation to just 6 points and I'm proud of my Vols.

I agree. I saw nothing wrong with the way he carried the ball. He had it in the outside arm and had it tucked away. Sometimes the other guy beats you. I don't believe there has ever been a running back who has never fumbled. There were plenty of other plays that contributed to this loss.

I think the only reason we are having this conversation, is because C. Anderson has been suspect in the past.

He's had several drops in big games, and the blocking for the running game hasnt been particularly successful in most games.

Corey Anderson is a 270 lb fullback. In a collision wiht him, the person getting "jarred loose", should have been the defensive player trying to tackle him, not Anderson and the ball.

He's not bringing any speed to the picture as a runner, the only thing he really brings, was the expected ability to occasionally run over people. Instead of running over people, he gets the ball knocked loose? With the game on the line in the final minutes???? With argualbly the biggest rivalry we have???? IMO other people deserve a shot at playing fullback.
