I never wore a mask. I just like to poke fun at people like you who believed it helped for 2 years.

You probably wore two masks in the car by yourself everywhere you went. That is, if you weren't too afraid to leave your house which wouldn't surprise me.

Many kids will have to because of the response to this mess (which is still pushed by many in this thread). Of course some are no longer with us so they'll get to avoid boring therapy. But hey, it was still so worth it right?

It’s a VA population so an older and sicker on average patient population. However they do breakdown age and obesity in the supplementary index.

Hazard ratios are about the same but baseline risk of course is lower in those younger and not obese.

Oh. He's an epidemiologist so that makes him an expert on lockdowns. Don't think so. Lockdowns did nothing to help, we know that, but they did kill a lot of people through depression/suicide/abuse/drug use, they tanked the economy, shut down thousands of small businesses that will never recover and had a horrible impact on kids and their education.

But she's an epidemiologist so therefore infallible.

And not an economist which has been an issue since the start. Sure, locking everyone in their home with a face mask and shield on will lower the rates of illness. However that only works in a vacuum. The heavy handed, one size fits all reaction ended up costing more people because they only listened to people hiding in labs. It has also put millions of kids at risk which should have been the first thing avoided. People spreading this stuff are culpable

Kids are more resilient than you are giving them credit for.

The pandemic has been hard on everyone in a myriad of different ways. Don’t be obtuse with your silly “was it worth it” comment.

I wasn’t in favor of lockdowns. I was saying it was time to open things back up pretty early on this very thread.

But masks? That was the absolute bare minimum we could do as a society.

Seems like the more contagious the variant the faster it burns through the remaining population.

The hope going forward is the virus just weakens the severity of illness. Hopefully by next fall/winter we are seeing this more in line with flu numbers in regards to hospitalization and death.

Then you've avoided the reports about kids in mental trouble from isolation, suicide, drug use and overdoses (top of the chart now) that have resulted from the response to this. This is coming from their doctors who don't believe it was as worth it as you and mad seem to

Masks as sold were essentially useless. The vax for the young and/or healthy is absurdity. The past è years has revealed a lot about people

Masks are not the root cause of isolation and depression. Nor are vaccines.

I never once said the response was perfect across the board. I’ve never said masks were a perfect solution. I said masks were the bare minimum thing we could do.

The response is the cause to the damage. Those are simply contributing factors to the divide we have now. People still pushing it, especially after 2yrs, should be ashamed

Well it took over 2 years but I have it. And it is kicking my ass. Awful stuff. Tested positive Monday night but started feeling bad last Thursday. So a week ago. It's weird. The first two days my throat was just unbelievable sore. Next two days I feel way better, but loss my taste and my throat was so itchy. So those two days were more of an annoyance rather ones of suffering. Then the next two days, massive headaches and pressure all in the sinus areas. Now today, that stuff has cleared up a lot but now I have bad chest congestion.

This virus is bipolar af. It's like the different stages of misery 😵
