Cotton Bowl: Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech

Should the score hold, it will be the lowest offensive output by Texas Tech all season and the most points scored by Ole Miss except for against Louisiana-Monroe.

Where are you therealUT? I want you to explain to me how it is criminal that UF is in the title game and Texas is not. You know, since UF lost to the lowly Rebels and Texas lost to the mighty Red Raiders....

Texas Tech is so frustrated by being dominated. Ole Miss is just jawing at them and their reactions are now penalizing their offense. Must really stink to be brought back to reality by a team that isn't even ranked in the top 15.

Texas Tech linemen are flatout scary. Say what you want, no way I would get in any of their faces and expect to return to play uninjured.

I think T. Tech against Vandy might have been a more fair contest for T. Tech to participate in.

I kinda feel sorry for the kid in the makeup. I am sure it is a lot more scary and a lot less dorky when it isn't smeared all over while getting owned on national television.

Question for you recruting gurus...were the classes Coach O pulled in at Ole Miss highly ranked or did he just have an eye for talent beyond what those recruiting services say? There are some damn good skill players on that Ole Miss team.

IF I remember correctly he had some decent classes. I think one was in the low 20's, certainly higher than what Hootie is recruiting now.

Do not believe it was top 5 in SEC though. Would have to research it for a more definite answer.

Rivals - Ole Miss under Ed Orgeron.

2007 #27
2006 #16
2005 #30

Looks like a couple solid years, looks like his first was his worst.

Under Hootie
2008# 29 (better than Ed Orgeron's first year)
Currently projected #41 for 2009

Thanks. The product on the field looked pretty good.

No problem, the talent is there right now.

Ole Miss should be good until Snead leaves. Ole Miss will jump up and surprise good teams, win games they should lose. They will also lose games they should win. All the while, the level of talent will diminish, then Nutt will jump to another team where there was decent talent and the coach underperformed, IMO.

Ole Miss better enjoy it while they can.
