Couch not going to Oregon

because some people keep away from topics and keep their mouths shut and stuff like this seems to go away. Answering a myriad of questions about something that didn't happen while he was here as he is taking an undermanned team to Cali isn't a good idea. Ask Saban. Coaches want to focus on the game.

Who the hell is going to Cali? We may be undermanned, but it would behoove us to go to Oregon, since that is where the game will be played

Couch was left off the plane. Great Job Butch!!, hope couch is packing up his stuff to transfer to bama where he can get all the money he wants without affecting us.

Couch is going no where, except to sit on the "couch" Then on draft day, he will end up being a free agent.

He has talent but the NFL executives know that no one really saw a whole body of works for his senior season because he will end up missing the entire season.

He will be for some team, at a real cheap price.

It looks like alot of former Vols are free agents, rather than being drafted in the N.F.L.

Bray, Bryce Brown, Da Rick Rogers, Zack Rogers, G. Jones, B.J. Coleman, Matt Simms, etc. etc.

We have talented players but Dooley could not develope their potential.

I have to say, that excuse is so dishonest and lame. Everyone knows UT is lying about the real reason he's not going. Why not just say "Based on the report, which we are investigating, he's going to sit out this game"? Why compound the problem here by lying about it? All you've done is open yourselves up to more criticism, seems to me.

Couch is the same guy that had sled induced asthma when Dooley was here. I know it's not the total reason but I bet it's part of it.

If we want to run a clean program, we should have a team vote. That's how you make men.

Really the President tried that...how did that work out .we need leaders....players are there to play football, build character, go to class, shower daily, football teams are not poly sci 101 there is a reason there is one coach.... A vote means nothing....Big brother xx type scenario lol...yeah right....

That's rich coming from a Florida fan. Urban Meyer wrote the book on BS injury holdouts to cover up things like failed drug tests. Exhibit A being Aaron Hernandez. Exhibit B being Percy Harvin, who regularly treated his migraines with weed while at Florida. Both were " out with injuries" for several games. So go sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here.

I'm sure LG believes every time a FL player breaks a rule that the coach and AD should come out and say exactly what is going on... It's politics and the powers at be will do some jockeying. 99% of how bad you get busted by the NCAA is dependent on how much you're dumb enough to admit. That's not right, that's just the way it is.

Come on, you know I'm not saying UT should admit that the kid broke a rule.

But, they shouldn't lie. Especially so obviously.

Everyone knows about the report. Just say you are looking into it and that's that. It does not admit he did anything.

Say nothing until you've had enough time to research all angles. Politics 101.

As a public institution, don't lie. Life 101

And based on your observation, by the way, the correct thing would be to say nothing. Just don't bring him. Say nothing.

The problem is in concocting the obvious lie to excuse it.

The irony of course is that you didn't have to lie. It got you nothing. Even the people on this board are saying its a lie. It might be the dumbest one ever told.

Exhaustion is a loose term. Call them liars if you want, doesn't matter. He was pulled out the day before this broke so it's equally plausible they're using a truthful and convenient excuse. Either way I care little about the moral judgements of a UF fan.

What in the hell gives a gator the right to judge any thing ethical after what happened with Hernandez when urban cryer should have kicked him off the team his freshman year. we are talking about a couple of hundred dollars not someones life. At least butch addressed it by not playing him, floridah and cryer played that punk and maybe if he was disciplined he wouldnt have killed someone.

Good grief, what a silly debate.

If you all actually believe Couch is (allegedly) not going on the trip because of "heat exhaustion," I've got a Nigerian inheritance to sell you for pennies on the dollar.

Let's see, the heat injury happened the day before the Yahoo article came out.

Doesn't practice the next day because of said injury (the day the article comes out)

Coach leaves him behind because of said injury.

You ever have a heat injury or had to treat same? Because I have. And it's not something to take lightly and for the fact Oregon will be close to 90 degrees with high humidity means the chances of a recurrence of said injury is more likely to happen, even if you are on the sidelines not wearing full gear.

Get off your ethical high horse here, the Gators are just as bad about lying as anyone in Div 1 sports.
