Could be a 3 seed in CFP?

We still need some things to go our way, TCU losing is major, Oregon I think is our only threat only because them as a Champ and their one loss is the same is ours, I think they will trump us, otherwise I think we are good.

Same could be said of USC, & UCLA… would love to see all of the PAC-whatever number they’re on now lose at least 1 more game…

5 or 6

About right. Expected as much. Just need to take care of business and see how it all shakes out. I expect TCU to lose at least once. I also want OSU to beat Michigan. I think we would be looked upon more favorably vs Michigan than OSU. Just have to see Oregon get another loss. I really don't like the thought of it coming down to us vs Oregon.
I agree. If they get the extra game it will be tough to stay ahead of them. TCU needs to lose to lock us in.

Yeah we talked about that earlier but I think if you weigh losses, Oregon and us have the same loss to Georgia, everyone else has lost to a lower ranked team, I think it matters but who knows, I also think they will screw us if they can.

I think they really want to see a PAC whatever team so the west coast feels involved

My guess for tomorrow:
georgia
tosu
michigan
tcu
tennessee
oregon

next saturday, Texas beats TCU and Vols move to #4.
when Vols win out and TOSU beats Michigan, Vols move to #3. #4 will be whichever PAC 12 school that finishes with only one loss.

Pretty accurate there bud.

Is it OK to just beat Mizzu first this week?
UT's part in all of these scenarios is to beat the 3 remaining opponents impressively. It can't be close. It can't be a confirmation of the UGA "formula" for stopping the O. The D needs to play their best ball of the year. The O needs to finish the season leading FBS in scoring and yardage.

If it's ok for TCU to have 4 come from behind victories and for Oregon's 46 point loss to be treated like just a normal loss, I don't know any W against Missouri shouldn't be good enough.

But that's not the world we live in. The committee has made it clear that style points don't matter unless it negatively affects the Vols. Dropping us 4 spots after a road loss to the new #1 is asinine unless you ignore the positive style points gained from our beat-downs of LSU and Kentucky but weigh heavily the negative style points we accrued in the loss to UGA.

I'd be okay if TCU runs the table and finishes ahead of us in the final standings, but the committee is snubbing the Vols by having them ahead of us at this point in the season. Their best win is a home win against 3-loss Kansas State. Their only decent road win is against 3-loss Kansas. Their first real road test is Saturday and if they lose they better drop more than 4 spots because Texas ain't Georgia.
