... one day be Tennessee's version of Nick Marshall and Tre Mason or Braxton Miller and Carlos Hyde?

I can see greatness in Dobbs. he is too smart to make those freshman mistakes next year and so on. Wont know about Hurd until the '14 season obviously! But one can hope.

Einstein was brilliant but probably would have sucked at QB. I'm not saying Josh won't succeed or be awesome, only that just because he is smart doesn't mean he will be great.

Well it's possible I'll say. Dobbs and Hurd will have the benefit of S&C this winter so both will get faster and stronger. If Dobbs can improve his throwing capabilities to be what the coaches need matched with his ability to run would be great.

Have you seen Nick Marshall run? Have you seen Dobbs run? They are nothing alike.

Not a huge difference when looking at stats. 6.6 yds per carry for Marshall and 5 for dobbs.

I also could argue that dobbs was sacked on a more frequent rate which made his yd per carry number lower than Marshall's because they don't pass much at all and sacks are very rare

Dobbs is very good on the zone read

Yeah. And how many more carries did Marshall have? Marshall has 4.4 speed and looks like a running back when he has the ball. Dobbs isn't even a natural runner.

No body that I have seen on that team is even average at the zone read. When you are slow/scared to get hit/never keep the ball...well then the defense will look very good for the other team.

Dobbs averaged over 60yds per game as a starter on runs. That's a pretty significant number for as you say "a below average scared runner"

1/2 of the equation works=Hurd. Dobbs, not so much. What we had this year was our 4th string QB starting because everyone else was hurt. Do not see Dobbs playing much once Worley and Fergusen get back.

This is a joke.

Marshall had more yds against us than Dobbs had in half a season. Dobbs had a couple of nice runs over the course of 5 games, and little else. Marshall ran for over 1000 yds and had big games against Alabama and Auburn.

I think you meant to put "Harder and Better" before faster and stronger.

Marshall had a big game against his own team??

We haven't seen him in college yet and he might be a bust (I don't think he will) but Hurd is listed as faster than the other three. We will see how it works out next year.

Marshall was initially going to be a DB and has 4.4 speed. Dobbs isn't even close to that.

Hurd and Mason aren't comparable either.
