Could we beat.......

because we all know wins over like opponents is the way to tell how to beat a team. USC's offense would score at will on our D. UT's at offense would score @ will on USC, until we would start having those little hiccups that we get every single game and USC would take over.

You mean, the way they scored at will against Cal? 23 points against Cal's defense? That's not a real big achievement, considering we shredded them for 35 in just 3 quarters.

A hypothesis (from Greek ὑπόθεσις) is a suggested explanation of a phenomenon or reasoned proposal suggesting a possible correlation between multiple phenomena. Kinda like what we are doing when we guess what would happen if we played that team, or that one.......based on assumptions or observations we collected throughout the season...............

again, like opponents means jack... between our pathetic run D and our extremely overrated secondary, yes, Pete Carrol's Offense would score, score, and score some more on us.

This is the reason we need some kind of age verification system in place and, of course, members must be at least 18 years of age to post.
Who started what Mr. Old Man? I made a statement, you attacked me, I made my opinion and it didn't agree with you, so you got upset........

Our defense has been disappointing, that's for sure. But it's still better than teams like Cal, Arizona, Washington, and Washington St. If USC only scored 20-28 points on those teams, I'm very confident UT could hold them to the same or lower.

I agree with the assessment concerning UM and Tosu, however, I doubt that USC would thrash us if we had Harrell, Inky, and Fellows.

If Antwan Stewart never had to step on the field, our secondary would be a lot better.

Antwan would be our starting strong safety even if we had all our DBs at 100%.

Thanks for being up the question of intelligence. Weiss has been at ND for almost two years. He could very well be a better coach than Fulmer. However, he could also wash out over the next three years. Also, since ND is an independent, then what is your measurement for Weiss? BSC bowl games and National Championships?

Also, our secondary is awful because we have guys on the field who shouldn't be on the field and guys playing out of position (see Stewart, Heffney, and Morley.) With Inky and Fellows in the mix, we would not have that problem.

Weiss and Fulmer have beat about the same number of teams with winning records the past two years. Charlie and the Irish will enjoy another BCS bowl thrashing at the end of the year. He's done a good job, but I'm not ready to crown him the king of college football yet.

Notre Dame barely won a good portion of their games. USC lost to Oregon freaking State. Ohio State almost lost to Illinios. Michigan almost lost to Ball State. If you just looked at those few games, it would be easy to think that none of those teams would stand a chance against UT.

No! Chavis must go! What a horrible game we played today. I am tired of our guys backing off the line on the third down plays. 9-3, big deal, we could just as easily been 6-6. Chavis has yet to make an adjustment at halftime. Brings up memories of the two games against PSU and the game against Nebraska. I don't care if we have beat them 22 straight times, we looked terrible today and as a fan I say a major, no pun, change is needed. We would get killed by everyone of those teams.

The funny thing is, we could easily be 11-1 as well.

but we're not 6-6, and we're not 11-1, and we're 9-3, so I hope we properly prep for the Bowl, whatever one we get

Well said tuxman. I can't believe this is being even discussed!

Wow, I can't believe you an tuxman don't think UT would stand a chance against any of them. Have you happened to watch college football lately? Any team can beat any team on any given Saturday. Especially when you're talking about a major team like Tennessee, they'll always have a chance to win every game they play in.
