Could we soon see sponsored logos on the field?

Guess it's official...wonder if we add a logo?
Do we rotate through the year or keep one for the entire year?

I bet the NCAA has rules on placement, size, number, etc.

As for me, call me old, but I feel sponsor logos need to stay on the walls surrounding the field.

The more people that watch the games, the greater the interest in milking every advertising penny out of the product becomes.

Look for longer and longer breaks between halves, quarters, series, and plays.

Society's priorities are almost completely wrong and they are advancing toward wronger.

Looks like the details are: an advertisement centered on the 50-yard-line and no more than two other smaller advertisements elsewhere. I don't love it, but this is the new era of college football.

That's true...at least with Danny at the wheel we should get something meaningful and local.

I bet there's a Weigels, Food City, or some other popular area based outlet....ohhhhhh...what about a DollyWood or GSM logo...now I'm kind of excited...lol

It’s Pilot. Deal is already done. But I think they’re only looking at one logo, somewhere around the 25. They’re aware that fans won’t be crazy about it.

If true, I'll never stop at a Pilot again.
There's a Pilot 3 miles from my house and it usually has the lowest gas price, but I intentionally drive past it to go to another station.
IMO the Haslam's should be banned from the state of Tennessee for the blatant abuse of money and power they have forced onto the institution.

I mentioned this a while back regarding where this could head. I still can see the day where it is the "Pilot Tennessee Vols". Might as well just do it. It is no longer really a college team anymore anyway. It is professional sports currently without the spending caps. The "Pilot Tennessee Vols" versus the "Tyson Arkansas Razorbacks" or the "Nike Oregon Ducks".

I also could see the day where a private school sells equity shares into their Sports program to various corporations or ultra-wealthy donors in return for a stake in continued valuation increases. True ownership structure.

What sucks is that they could have that whole stadium plastered in advertisements and they'll still continue to rise our tix prices. It's sickening.

Just had a thought...what if everyone on VN chipped in 5 bucks...would that be enough to get Vol Nation a logo on say the 10 or 15?

It'll be interesting if the tv networks have their own logos for the broadcast that cover the ones on the field. You see that with the boards in hockey.

The ones you see on tv rotate every so often but they're electronic. When they show a replay you can see the actual boards.

Pretty sleezy sells technique if they are being sold as "millions of views" when it's really only 100k or so.
