Could we still host with Chaos?

If the gumps found a way to lose, could we be host?
1 Oregon 11-0
2 Ohio State 9-1
3 Texas 9-1
4 WON (ugly) Penn State 9-1
5 LOST Indiana 10-0
6 WINNING Notre Dame 9-1
7 ?????? Alabama 8-2
8 WON Miami 9-1
9 LOST Mississippi 8-2
10 WON (ugly) Georgia 8-2
11 WON Tennessee 8-2
Georgia won by nearly 40 points, so I'm not sure you could say they won ugly.

I mean we needed one team for sure but two is great. Three wouldn't hurt because the committee has been all over the place with their explanations. I expect at least the conversation of one team jumping in there from the ACC or Big12 based off SEC cannibalizing itself. So a one bid league becomes 2 possibly. So having some buffer room is nice. I just don't see anyway they let us host one. I feel that will be Texas or Georgia's opportunity whichever loses the SEC Championship game. They are going to send us somewhere I just hope they don't shift us and send us to Oregon or Ohio State whichever is the Big 10 loser.

Today - three of the teams above us lost ... Indiana, Bama, and Ole Miss.

12 - Boise State barely beat a 2-9 Wyoming team.
13 - SMU won
14 - BYU lost
15 - A&M (now leading Auburn late in the 4th quarter) - They have the same record we do and don't see them jumping us.
16 - Colorado lost

My predictions but who knows what the committee will decide:

We will be either 8 or 9 depending upon what happens to Indiana. We will not jump Georgia. Georgia would host and we would not.

Still need to win out and have teams above us lose.

Yea…the first 4 seeds are Big 10 Champ, SEC Champ, Probably ACC Champ and Probably Boise State. The Big 12 Champ will probably be the 12 seed.
The 5-8 slots are probably Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame and Georgia…cause Bama is getting beat tonight!

So basically in your scenario-it would be either Penn St or ND in round 1. I think the committee would monkey with the rankings a bit to avoid 2 SEC teams facing each other in round 1.

Think I would prefer Penn St. Franklin is the opposite of a big game coach.

We should be 8th when new rankings come out. Probably need to be sixth to host to account for Boise (bye) and Notre Dame (ranked ahead of us).

We should be able to do that when the SEC championship and Big 10 championship game losers. Good chance one or both could drop behind us.

Not only are we in with a win over vandy — with more games to follow I think the odds we host have gone way up today.

Yea, if the 5-8 are as I listed I bet Indiana would be #9 and play at Georgia and we’d be either 10 or 11 and play at Penn State or at Notre Dame.

We will likely be the 8 or 9 seed. Come out of that game alive then we’re going to face the 1 seed.

Still need ND, UGA, or Penn St to lose for Tennessee to host.
