I believe we are now the top oil producer in the world as well, making us oil independent. We're on pace to be producing more oil than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined in the near future.

If free thinking is what led some to conclude that Trump was a good idea, then I guess it's a blessing that it's a trait so rarely practiced.

This response doesn't make sense to what I posted. He's in there because everyone is tired of the same BS on both sides.

I understood your post and I understand people being tired of the same old BS.
What I will never understand is anyone ever thinking that trump was a better solution.
That's like saying "I'm tired of having hamburger meat every night so tonight we are going to eat rat."
I guess it does have the effect of making one appreciative of hamburger meat.

I'm with you. In 2008, the prevailing narrative for most of the campaign cycle was ending the war. We had a choice between a former POW who knows the cost of war and had bucked his own party over the subject vs. someone who's only service was community organizer and 2/3 of a Senate term. In 2012, when the prevailing issue was clearly the economy we had a choice between a successful businessman with executive experience in the public and private sectors and a guy who'd succeeded in nothing to help the economy during the prior four years. The voting public is fickle.
