Countdown to Northam Resignation

Agree. He's a doofus but he's shown that questioning things that should be questioned triggers a massive defense mechanism from the status quo (government).

Back in the primaries I suggested his election (if it occurred) would be a major reset (cleansing fire). Necessary but messy.
Cleansing fire? Much more like a dumpster fire. The post-Trump world will not be what was imagined by his supporters.

I'm sure it's already been mentioned somewhere in the 700+ posts that precede this one but I couldn'tread them all. I cannot get past the intellectual dishonesty of people who advocate for wiping the slate clean for murdrers and rapists and then say that something like this guy's 30+ year old yearbook pictures from a costume party are unforgivable and merit removal from office. A lot of the race baiting is done for political gain and maybe there is an element of karma in what's happening to this guy but it seems kind of ridiculous.

The best remedy to Trumps of the future is Trump of the present. I think instead of helping to break up the two party system, Trump is only going to end up reinforcing it. Now we've seen the dangers of stepping outside of the box.

At least Trump made it so you can see the price of the medication he drove you to taking.

No, it's pretty much what everyone should have expected. Trump isn't really of the GOP, and it was obvious he was not wanted there. The Dims wouldn't accept him or anyone not of their own party. It was always going to be Trump against the entrenched DC establishment ... of both parties; there just happen to be a lot of us who don't like Trump but want him there because he is hated by everyone in DC, and that's why we despise with every breath the people who are entrenched in DC.

One of the few things I was behind Trump on was his stated claim that he would "wage war on big pharma". ....lol ... More likely to get a wall.

Blame your beloved establishment. You and your entire delusional party are gonna resist no matter what he does. He’s a success in spite of you and your pc party.

Of course. Congress is making far too much in graft from drug companies to let anything get in the way of a good thing ... for them.

By comparison, the DC establishment is looking better than ever. The phrase of the future will be "well at least they're not Trump."

I can't wait for some Democrats to reverse course and make the claim "well, Trump is a racist and he hasn't resigned yet. Why should Northam?"

Pharma is tough. The manufacturers need to make money to fund research and to pay off the class action lawsuit industry for the people who wind up with one of those potential side effects they breeze through in the commercials. We all want cleaner, more effective medicines and, hopefully, most of us agree that people who suffer disproportionate harm should be compensated. I don't know how to square that with the high prices.

I don't think it's quite that simple. According to one pie chart I saw, drug companies spend more for marketing than for research. I'd say it's more like they are having one great big party at out expense. In the meantime they are farming out production to China and India with minimal quality control. Apparently the Chinese and Indians decided they could produce drugs like Losartan a different way, so now their blood pressure meds may still take care of high blood pressure ... but give you cancer. And it doesn't justify the extreme run up in old established drugs like insulin.

Ya i got the losartan notice... Pharma jerks. Btw, it came up at at work the other night, the expense of liquid Tylenol. The stuff can be given post op and literally cuts the need for opioid use dramatically, even after major surgery. It costs 1k a bottle. It's been on the market for 6 years and is about to lose Patten rights next year. I'm betting we start giving it to everyone because it gets so cheap.

Way before oxy was on the market, I knew of people who would doctor shop for Vallium, codine, and dilaudid. I've deposed pain management doctors who sold five figures worth of narcotics to people who came in with subjective complaints based on soft tissue injuries. Then there is the whole screwed up system of medical billing and insurance reimbursement rates. It's not all on the drug companies.

I've digressed.

I've noticed, they have a problem with everyday things that are simple to fix, they need a committee.

They have an audience that has either been promised free s*** forever or ones that have been coddled their entire life without dealing with any real world issues. All they have to do is tell these people what they want to hear.
