My moms birthday was yesterday so we all got together for a family dinner. My brother, who teaches masters students at UGA’s Terry college of business, and I were having a discussion about academia. He is of the belief that the vast majority of academia is staunch liberals but the majority of those in business are conservatives. No hard data presented but he is a straight shooter and lives in that world some.Depends on how you define intelligence. I've met many so-called intelligent people without a lick of common sense.
I believe it. Every one of my business owning customer's think Democrats and their policies suck assMy moms birthday was yesterday so we all got together for a family dinner. I mean every conservative friend, co-worker, and relative I have. Every single one of them thought of Trump as a horrible joke in the beginning. most of them felt that way up to the point of him winning the primary.Because he wasn't part of either party and wasn't afraid to speak his mind and by everybody ..... you mean the liberal media
They were lying to you because they knew you'd cry, pee and sh** your pants if they told you the truthI mean every conservative friend, co-worker, and relative I have. Your friends, coworkers, and relatives were actually a part of the conspiracy to hide their feelings from the world so the democrats would get crotch kicked on Election Day.I mean every conservative friend, co-worker, and relative I have. No doubt liberals figured out years ago that they can brainwash those in college. My moms birthday was yesterday so we all got together for a family dinner. I can disagree with most of the "Trumpies" without them resorting to insults. It's not that I haven't disagreed with them on some Trump policies, they just don't turn it into the same production that you do.Come in here and berate anyone other than the Trumpies is in fact you being a puppet. Trying to normalize this circus is you being a puppet.
The best remedy to Trumps of the future is Trump of the present. I think instead of helping to break up the two party system, Trump is only going to end up reinforcing it. Now we've seen the dangers of stepping outside of the box.I guess it all depends on perspective. A real GOP member would see Trump as a free radical and want no part of him. Dims would naturally want no part of him
The more independent of us who lean not so much to the GOP but against liberal Dims, see Trump as an arrogant fool ... the elephant in the china shop so carefully set and arranged by lifetime politicians of both stripes. And for right now, that's just all right.
While I personally despise Trump and pretty much everything he stands for, I absolutely love watching him wreak havoc on both parties and hope both parties burn in hell ... yours just more so. The solution to the Trumps of the future comes in ridding the country of lifetime politicians, complete revision of how legislation is written, and thoroughly trashing anything but very minimal campaign donations (including by the candidate himself or herself) to preclude buying political positions, appointments, and legislative/regulatory favor..
I don't really agree with the second part. I have never really had any use for Trump and probably never will. However, he has done one thing this country absolutely needed, and still needs more of. He is the only person in public office to bluntly face the absurdity of the political correctness that has paralyzed the country. The left has weaponized political correctness, and conservatives never addressed it until it became institutionalized, and then they were afraid to challenge it. It was absurdly ironic the day that Holder said we've never had a blunt discussion about race ... absurd because while true, his side made sure it could never happen.
If you cannot address differences because one side makes issues sacred and unapproachable, then you can never work through them. Everything simply becomes more polarized. You can see the issues right here on VN, but fortunately we are willing to tread where angels and policy makers won't.
Lets see the production the Trumpies made out of this, Northam is a child killer is the BS that came from that camp. Most say he should step down. So what's your gripe?I can disagree with most of the "Trumpies" without them resorting to insults. I'm a believer in burning the current political system down. We are in desperate need of Congressional term limits to rid DC of lifelong politicians.Agree. He's a doofus but he's shown that questioning things that should be questioned triggers a massive defense mechanism from the status quo (government).
Back in the primaries I suggested his election (if it occurred) would be a major reset (cleansing fire). Necessary but messy.

First, the thread was started by your buddy, EL. Second, several that you would group as "Trumpies" have refrained from calling for him to resign from his post. In fact, it seems more Dems are calling for that than GOPers. Third, how many have actually called the guy a child killer? Not many that I've seen. Do they disagree with his proposed abortion policy, yes, but not many have turned that into child killer.Lets see the production the Trumpies made out of this, Northam is a child killer is the BS that came from that camp.
