What happened to "The Wreckers"?? They had a couple good songs and now have vanished.

They're prefab pop rejects who are waiting for someone to write them another good song....saw them live, with Paisley and Eric Church, they didn't seem to be into it like Brad and Eric

I saw Eric Church here in Memphis this past Thursday night. One hell of a show he put on. Nice guy btw. really down to earth.

I love 'sinners like me' by Eric Church
and letter to me by Brad Paisley

I never really listened to classic country. I was cleaning and put the classic country channel on(dont know why). It's not bad, it makes ya wanna kick back, with a beer. What a name Lefty Frizzell.

Is Shooter Jennings all that is advertised? I saw him on Lettermen recently. It sounded very diffrent. I expected a "Kid Rock" type sound and got what seemed to be a "Bob Dylan meets Guns N Roses."

I grew up loving country. Then started hating it through HS and college. Now it's slowly growing on me again. I saw Brad Paisley in concert last fall at HiFi Buys- he's BA.

I just have to say I do like Pastsy Cline.

When I think of classic country music, Patsy doing "Crazy" is one of the first songs that comes to mind. She was the best. Another one that comes to mind is "Gentleman" Jim Reeves doing "He'll have to go". What a voice!

Why dont you have your Vols hat on in your picture on your station's site? It's cool your a DJ, I always thought that would be a fun job.

Well, the Vols hat that I always wear was given to me back in 1998 by a guy that I coached football with. Its the hat that I wear 99% of the time and over 10 years, it is showing what I call some serious personality. The fabric on the bill is torn, its faded big time and...well it shows. I wore a different hat that day for some odd reason when they took the picture. Its my second favorite hat, my Tellico Village green hat. There are a ton of pics with my Vols hat, but they have not been downloaded yet. When they update the pics, the Vols hat will be proudly on display!

Every Friday during my all request lunch hour at approximately 12:30, I always play Rocky Top by the Osbourne Brothers. Its just my way of officially kicking off the weekend early in the middle of the day. Its the one time that I crank up the speakers, make the walls shake and force the sales department on the other side of the wall to take a two minute and 30 second break from making phone calls or talking! :) There are a few folks that listen online in Georgia and Tennessee that always listen live at that time to hear it played. Of course during football season, I have a local guy who moved up from K'ville call me and we talk about the game that weekend and then he requests it before I play it. You would be surprised at how many Notre Dame fans up here are also closet Vol fans.

Anyways, look for pics with the orange hat coming soon. There may be some on the photos page of me at the CMA Awards and events leading up to it that week with the hat on.

I'm off this Friday, if I'm around I'll try to catch ya playing Rocky Top. It's great to see the BB teams doing well and I know most people are excited about fall ball.
You wouldn't happen to know when Toby Keith is playing in Vegas this year?

Nope, cant find anything that says when he is playing Vegas this year. If I come across the dates I will let you know.

I just spent an interesting afternoon in a three plus hour jam session with two local legends, The Vanover Sisters. I doubt anyone knows them outside the area that is not over 60 yrs old. They were on the local WOPI & WCYB radio programs as teenagers with Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs, Earnie Ford, The Carter Family, Doc Watson, Leon Kiser and many other early Mountain music players. They blew me away as these two ladies of 70-80 wailed away with some of their signature songs like "Here Comes Trouble" & "Older men make better Lovers"

Just so you know, Bristol is the acknowledged birthpalce of Country Music by the Congress of the USA. The first recordings of the genre were made here of Jimmy Rogers, The Carter Family and the Stonemans among others by Ralph Pearman of the RCA Recording Co of New York.

There is a group of us that meet every Mon. at Java Js in Bristol at 7:00 pm. We are trying to keep the old traditional Mtn music alive. Come join us if you can.

It was the RCA Victor Co. There was no barn, they set up a studio in a storefront on State St right across from Java Js where we Jam. They are known as the Bristol Sessions.
