Country music thread

Coming from someone who wasn’t a fan of his “debut” album, this new Luke combs album is pretty good. A few I could do without, but I’d give it a thumbs up.

I don't mind him, but don't hear much since I'm about 100% free of terrestrial radio when i want to hear music.

Not familiar enough to know if he's a "canned" indie country sound like Midland.

Side note, happy 2nd Anniversary to me and the boss lady, last year we celebrated with Casey Donahew in Nashville but this year was just 2 stepping in the living room to Jon Wolfe.

Funny story, our first date we met at Haw Ridge to hike, decided to get lunch afterwards, after debating for about 6 hours on who'd drive to the restaurant she did, when the truck started "Fishing with Grandpa" by Bo Phillips came on her radio. Knew right then I'd hit gold.

this album has more of that 90’s sound, I’m the first to admit to 90’s are overrated, but he does it to where it doesn’t seem “fake” or “pandering” and happy anniversary!

Most of the boys and girls who sing in country today have never been on the south end of a pig or **** on by a calf in a head shoot. Most never had dirt under there nails. I lost all respect for the industry about two weeks ago. My wife and I went to 3rd and lindsley a couple of weeks ago and the kids singing were as city as DT. Pathetic!

Broke out West Texas Vernacular today, don't know how I'd forgetten how great it is. Baumann is severely underappreciated.

maybe this is a case of "absence making the heart grow fonder" but here's a hot take that likely only TP will agree with:

Felker is a better songwriter than Isbell. Isbell can punch you in the gut, but Felker can write absolute poetry across the gamut of emotion and topics.

Jesus, Kylie Rae was a .28 and over 100mph when she caused that wreck
She added: "Parents are people. People make mistakes and being a parent is hard. I'm not always going to make the right choices, but I hope that when Corbie gets older she'll see that they were all made with love and the best of intentions."

about that...

Whiskey in Your Water, I assume, he wrote during one of the dead times before the breakup, and it's really just pure Felker. You can't help but help and hope for the guy, just like Jimmy or Lorrie.

It started it, but there’s so much. I’ve been on as Turnpike kick for days.
Diamonds and Gasoline, Pay No Rent, Good Lord Lorrie, Housefire, Every Girl, Oklahoma Stars (co-written with Jamie Lin Wilson I know, but their version is infinitely better), Shreveport, and on and on.
