Country music thread

It started it, but there’s so much. I’ve been on as Turnpike kick for days.
Diamonds and Gasoline, Pay No Rent, Good Lord Lorrie, Housefire, Every Girl, Oklahoma Stars (co-written with Jamie Lin Wilson I know, but their version is infinitely better), Shreveport, and on and on.
I laughed at my Spotify 'year in review', apparently all I listen to is Turnpike, Reckless, and the Motorcars.

The Braun Brothers can write as well, but they're much more artistic about it than Felker, who's just "real".

I still listen to Pat more than anyone. It wouldn’t be fair to only use Spotify though. I bought Steak Night and Cheap Silver on vinyl by Mike and the Moonpies at their concert. Didn’t have Mockingbird on vinyl so I got the cd. I play that cd all the time sitting in DC traffic.

Would post mine if I could actually see it, mine refuses to work. Lol

Jason Isbell is coming to the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion in Bristol next September. I just shipped my pants.

Sold a fly rod to a kid at work and when he came over 1952 Vincent Black Lightning was on. He was like "What is this? Its ****ing awesome"

A reading from the gospel, book of Willy Braun.

Richard Thompson played a free show at Barleys in Knoxville during Big Ears Festival a couple years ago. The WDVX radio host asked if he would play 1952 Vincent Black Lightning as an encore. Thompson said nah, pissed the host off pretty good, then played a long, obscure instrumental and then walked out. It was awesome.

Who did you see?
Childers, Chris Knight, and Sarah Shook.

Don't want to draw lines, but TC and Evan are very similar in style, singing about places within 20 miles of home, to the straight standing strumming and singing. Tyler seems made for success though.

Was kinda upset with the indifference to Chris Knight, but the crowd that is new due to Tyler isn't old enough to "get" songs like Rural Route.

Sarah Shook's sound was awful, she's a great show but not arena ready.

Is TC playing multiple shows there?
