Country music thread

Don't waste the time or money to see Rascal Flatts would be my advice

+1...if that guy was singing for crap, he couldn't get a smell....whatever that means. It's an old person saying. I've never heard them live that he wasn't terribly off pitch a lot.

I know groves doesn't like them, but I become a bigger fan of Sugarland with every song. It's good stuff. I'm also no longer ashamed to say I am a Taylor Swift fan. Some of her stuff is typical teenage girl cheesy stuff, but a lot of it is very, very good and it is without a doubt country music. Kudos to her. After all, she is a teenage girl, so go figure that would be what she sings about. Now feel free to bash me and take away one of my man cards.

Check out April Taylor and Reagon Boggs on My Space. Both local girls with talent. April has a song "When you Come from Nothing" that is #41 and climbing.

I've been on a big Adam Carroll/ Dub Mller kick, one of you guys turned me on to Adam, his songwriting fun and very flowing.

Here's some Dub The first song, Insanity and Texas, is an instant favorite of mine.

Anyone hear where Carrie Underwood was offered $3,000,000 to pose for Playboy? It'll never happen but damn if it would!

we knw. carrie said she'll leave huntsville sunday morning. she wanted me to tell u she said she hopes u enjoy the show

some of Paisley's recent songs have left much to be desired for this traditional country fan. Case in point, he essentially stole the whole start a band song's music from one of his own songs.

Honestly, Bill, i live in Connecticut, so Country Radio doesnt exist to me, as its Tim and Faith...Brad is about the only Nashville act i will pay to see up here...it could be worse, and i hate country radio, so i'm not familiar with anything new....

So i DJ myself with Cory Robert Earl, Townes, Dub, Adam, and Bleu

I call it "real" country, most of todays acts are pure commercial. Its a beauty contest, male and female.

I agree. Listening to modern radio country is nothing more than soft rock beats and auto-tone filled vocal melodies. It's amazing how fake the genre is.

country has been that way for a long time.

in the mid seventies and mid eighties country got off track and played soft rock garbage, only to come back in the late eighties and into the beginning of the nineties. It's just cyclical like most things in this world. Rock does the same thing.
