Lolol a girl I’ve been off and on friends with for 20 years and tried to date a time or two loves Midland. Then when she said they didn’t have the red dirt sound/vibe, I asked her how she thought that. She got all ticked at me when I said that’s literally what they sell themselves as, it’s not just my opinionOn Midland; I like their sound, but they're manufactured to be what I like, they haven't paid the road dues that I appreciate about the red dirt/texas scene. They are the "hello, fellow ragweed fans, should we partake in a marijuana cigarette"
You definitely need to post in this thread more…View attachment 417760
Somewhat interesting to me, none of my top songs are by any of my top artists

Raised on George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Pat Green…
Just wish I would’ve learned how to pick from a VHS
Similar. Discovered Pat, Boland in Ragweed when stationed in Colorado and it turned on a light in my head. Holy **** it was an epiphanyThe only exposure I had to country music growing up was the occasional Alabama album my mom would play and the cheesy country Christmas albums. I was heavily into metal, hardcore punk, and pop punk in high school and early college. Listened to Turnpike Troubadours one day randomly and the rest is history.

I grew up getting to listen to everything. My dad enjoyed 50s-70s country and classic rock. Mom listened to bubble gum pop, current (80s) country, and Motown. I liked it all. Except 80s rock. The 90s hit, grunge and alt rock were INCREDIBLE as was 90s country. Things went south after that. When stationed at Ft Bragg, two Texans heard me listening to Pat and introduced me to Texas/Red Dirt. Most notably RRB.
Love that they covered Radney Foster. I appreciate that they don’t change the songs to make them their own. Even the female sung songs. And how they find songs/artists 90s country fans have probably forgotten, but instantly remember every single lyricI listened to about half of it this morning, so good
