Country music thread

BJ sings like they aren’t ever going to let him sing again, every single song
Bill, got a facebook message from a guy I played youth hockey with in CT, about a random drunk FB post of mine that Good Lorrie is a top 5 all time song. He agreed. The gospel according to Boland, Felker, Canada, and Green.

Lamentations (Me & Mine) live is freaking religious experience.

They followed with I Hope He Breaks Your Heart, then closed the set with Burn, Flicker, Die. What a fantastic show.

BJ came out alone to open the encore with the new song he put out on Insta about suicide, then played Rockingham (he said for his dad who was in attendance and closed with “Money In The Bank”

My man crush on Barham grew even larger tonight…

Local-ish. Just under two hours
Gotcha. It’s a little over 3 hours from me but if you’re going to be there early enough before the show I’d love to meet up and buy you a drink. Even though it’s not terribly far I’ll definitely be getting a hotel room downtown, last time I went to RTTR I was able to get close enough to just walk everywhere

I’m not even going to try. I did buy Saturday tickets for Road a trip to Raleigh and now Barham is teasing a big guest
Ummmm, Bill, I think I might pass out...

Just a thought - Is Zach Bryan really country/red dirt/whatever? I mean, I like his music as much as anyone, but I feel like I’d classify him more as folk/Americana.

Don’t really disagree with you but think that same thing could be said about a lot of the people we discuss in here. I don’t really know what a consensus definition of country music even is anymore, other than whatever the hell they play on country music radio these days.

I know I tend to default to calling lots of stuff that I end up gravitating to as “Americana” but I know some of those same artists bristle at that term also so I’ve kinda started just giving up on labels.

Fair enough. I do dislike trying to put labels on everything, it’s just unusual in my mind for an artist to play the Grand Ole Opry, then play with American Aquarium, and then go play at a rodeo. Not really arguing or anything, or even speaking negatively about anything, just thinking out loud I guess.

In fairness, 90% of the crap on "country radio" or performed at the CMAs isn't "country," either. Mostly pop, and mostly bad.
