Country music thread

Cody Johnson's new record is getting good reviews, it's self released which I like. Hopefully he stays the F out of Nashville but he seems like he could have real star power if he wanted to sell his soul.

Has anyone listened to Parker Millsap? Saw him at the Opry and purchased his album. Thought it was unique.

John Denver doesn't get enough recognition. Country Roads, Annie's Song, Sunshine, Thank God I'm A Country Boy, Matthew, I'm skipping some, but his lyrics are top notch.

For that matter, Kris Kristofferson.was a great songwriter. And a Rhodes acholar. And a commissioned officer (army I believe) before being a hippie. Lol.

My wife and I both are huge John Denver fans! We sing "Sunshine On My Shoulders" every night to our boys before they go to bed.

Aside from the ones you listed, Rocky Mountain High, The Eagle and the Hawk, Leaving On A Jet Plane, Calypso, etc but there are so many! My personal favorite John Denver song is Poems, Prayers, and Promises.

Going to see Margo Price on the 13th, free show. She's also down in the city on the 16th we might check that out.

I think I could listen to "I miss my Mary" on an endless loop. Hal Ketchum was always hit or miss for me, but I think this song is perfection

Went to Hastings tonight, and while walking the store I heard sturgill Simpson on the intercom playing. Pretty cool.
