That's not an answer - should recipient of PPP loans that were obtained through fraud not be prosecuted?

The deflection to the banks is not an excuse for intentionally misrepresenting your assets. Should the banks done a better job of vetting, yes - but that doesn't negate his willful and intentional misrepresentations. That's fraud.

He listed maralago as a $738m property for collateral purposes. The highest real estate sales estimate for maralago was $73m (if it was divided up and sold for individual parcels). Which by the way could never happed due to deed restrictions. Ultimately, his "estimate" was a cat turd wrapped in a dog turd.

It is an answer. Trump didn’t commit fraud. There’s a reason it’s a civil case and not criminal.

You realize nearby 2 acre lots are going for 150m and his property is 20 acres right? Also the number I saw said he listed it at 400-600m which seems reasonable if 2 go for 150m

Totally disagree , it’s all subjective . If he had stayed a good little Democrat donor , he wouldn’t be having the law specifically applied to him right now . It’s a shell game the developers and banks play knowing they are both playing with fire . Nobody cares until somebody does .

You guys really believe that the democratic party controls everything. It's weird. The GOP is a party of weaklings who constantly play the victim. And you believe the biggest whiner in the bunch is a strong leader.

It’s not even the worst fraud judgment of the past 4 years. The one where he was just using his charity as a personal bank account was way more egregious conduct, IMO.

I believe the ones bringing the charges in Ny city are liberal , who are bringing the other charges ? I also believe that huge political donors to the dem party in cities like NY don’t get charged for something they are all doing unless it’s to make a point or there’s an agenda . This isn’t some rabbit hole you have to dig around to find the truth . NY , DC , Chicago , San Francisco, we’re and are all built off of corruption . The law is applied subjectively

Trump has absolutely been found liable for fraud and the penalties being doled out will be devastating to his brand, wallet and legacy.

The decision to not prosecute criminally was likely a gift.

Wouldn't say he's the greatest but agree he's a con man. Not sure the last time we elected a President that wasn't a con man. Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton.... all con men. Seems to be what it takes to be a successful politician anymore. And if this forum is any indication, plenty on both sides eat it up.
