Cousins is going to UK

After watching Cousins in the McDonalds AA game and the Nike Hoop Summit I am not really that impressed. I am sure he is a great player but he didn't show much in either game. He looked kinda lazy on the court and stood around and watched alot. But it is all star games so might not be that big of a deal. He was rated a 5* for some reason.

Cousins looked awful on defense at the Nike Summit. He got jammed on and then left his man wide open on next play. These all-star games are strange with the 24 second clock and all the zone WORLD played today. USA big men did not do well at all.

John Wall was an absolute beast however. Kid is going to be one of the best PGs we've seen in last ten years. Whoever gets Wall contends for a NC immediately (assuming its UK, Duke or UNC).

I think that being lazy is one of the issues that has been mentioned about Cousins. However, evaluating a player based on their performance in an all-star game isn't very smart. Cousins is good.

His mom says he recently took the ACT. Don't understand why he waited so late in his senior year to take it guess he has been busy LOL

DeMarcus Cousins will follow John Calipari to Kentucky - Off the Vine - al.com

Wall said he plans to take the SAT on May 4th. His GPA is only 2.6 which means he'd need at least a 780 on his SAT to qualify for UNC or Duke. Anyone have an idea what the requirements are at UK? Starting to think this kid might have trouble meeting these requirements.

Whether Wall or Cousins is academically ineligible is irrelevant.
Calipari and Worlwide Wes will make them eligible.

Can someone tell me who was the last "Big-time" recruit that Calipari could not get in school? (Although Memphis isn't exactly hard to get into I imagine...)

Dunno what they are at UK, but I bet they're not as high as Duke. ;)

I agree with that was just surprised how he played. With everyone talking about him I guess I was expecting alot more from him.

This coming from a Memphis fan. I guess basketball is all you have... or had.

Sadly , your right .:ermm:

If Memphis had had a football team in the 70's and 80's I might actually like college football .

Your roots have to start somewhere .

Actually that's not true either . When there is no true Champion in the sport , it sucks . Kinda like not keeping score in a little league baseball.

Patterson, Cousins and Orton will be pretty sick - but without a PG the "DDM" won't work at all.

Pretty sure Wall has not qualified yet either.

(not saying he won't)

My brother read somewhere Wall is scheduled to take the ACT/SAT either yesterday or next weekend. (don't know why he waited so late in his senior year to take the test)

Haven't read anywhere that anyone thinks Wall will have trouble qualifying but have read several times that Bledsoe will have trouble with it.

If Duke thinks they can get him in, he probably has a good chance of qualifying anywhere.

Bledsoe? I don't see Wall having trouble getting qualified just don't understand why he and cousins and I am sure others have waited so long into there senior year to take the qualifing test.

Qualifying is a major issue for Wall right now. No one outside his inner circle knows exactly how many times he's taken the SAT before, but this is not first time.

That's true, but not for the reasons you think. Truth is: Duke's academic standards for basketball players are no different than UK's.

The good old minimum requirements. Athletic morons get in, but regular morons don't. I'd hate to be that guy with a 3.9 that gets squeezed out by Wall.
