You’re lying your ass off. There have been multiple drops to videos of Biden himself stating it was a full additional $2k on this forum and there’s no way you didn’t see them.

I don’t hang on his every word. When it was first being thrown around I understood it to be an add on to the 600 already passed. When the headlines first started popping up that Dems were getting “blasted” for dropping it I realized they screwed up the messaging. Whether that was on purpose or not for the GA runoff is definitely worth criticism.

You understood it wrong. Biden clearly said send the Democrat senators to DC and $2000 checks go out the door immediately. There was no way to misconstrue what the dementia patient said this time at least.

When Trump started throwing around 2000 but the 600 had already passed both chambers, the House passed a bill that bumped up the 600 to 2000 (1400). Of course McConnell didn’t bring it to a vote. When Biden released his 1.9T plan before he even took office and that was what was I it. I was ALWAYS under the impression the plan was to push that bill through.

Apparently I thought correct because that is exactly what they are doing.

But like I said, the messaging for the GA runoff was definitely misleading and worthy of criticism. It could also be argued that 2000 was needed in early Jan and it could be mid March before the 1400 finally goes out and people would have needed that extra 600 for the nearly 2 month gap.

Regardless if it is $2000 or $1400, Joe was "buying" votes. Sadly, there is a segment of the voter base that can be easily swayed for $2000.

No you thought wrong however the dementia patient is using your pliable reasoning to sell his back peddling. He said $2000 dollars. “That 2000 check will go out immediately”. This is during the GA runoff. It was clearly stated.

Good grief you are incorrigible. I said the messaging for GA was misleading.

But when he made that speech the House bill for the additional 1400 had just passed and Schumer was trying to pressure McConnell into brining it up for a vote. It was pretty obvious that was that plan.

The answer is the same no matter the set up. Didnt matter when it was Trump, doesnt matter bow that its Biden. Doesnt matter if every dollar finally stays in the US.

The only responsible answer is 0 dollars and opening the economy. Anything else is just pissing away that many more trillions of dollars.

Misleading is a nice way to say lying. If that had been Trump there would be calls for impeachment for lying and buying votes, and influencing the election.

No one would have called for impeachment over that. Were people calling for Trump to be impeached when he held up the spring stimulus to make sure his name was on the checks (or sent a letter out to those who got a direct deposit)? An OBVIOUS ploy leading up to an election.

Anyone who was really paying attention would have seen there was a House bill for additional 1400 to supplement the 600 already going out. Biden, not even in office yet, was vocally supporting that bill urging the Senate to pass it. The logical assumption is that is what he was referring to when he gave the speech in GA.

But yes, Trump would have been hammered for it and so should Biden for not being clear.
