COVID Relief Package

If a mansion is 1.3 million and you buy it for 600k how much did you save?

Dont forget you are 27.2 million already I debt.

Sounds like you agree with 40 Republicans in the Senate and 100% of Republicans in the House. What's your point? Not a single Republican has voted for this. There were ten Republicans who knocked on Biden's door to ask if a compromise was possible and the answer they got was hell no. This will pass w/o a single GOP vote. Again, what's your point? It sure seems like one party is fiscally responsible here and the other isn't. There is a stark political divide over this

It would be nice if the Government would work as it should for once. If the argument for passing a relief package is that there are certain urgent needs then the package should be limited to that. When you throw in other items (particularly ones that could be detrimental like the minimum wage) it undermines the argument.

Giving everyone making up to 120,000 (couple) money regardless of their need and everyone with a child making up to 150000 (couple) 3000-3600/child regardless of need is just nuts.

Add to that the massive amount from the last stimulus that hasn't been spent and it's hard to see this as anything but opportunistic.

There are some targeted needs that could be addressed without the massive scale and political agenda.

Trump redistributed $2.2T and you still voted for him again. Are we still pretending the other side are the socialists?

Trump is old news. He's long gone. We now have a party wanting to spend $1.9T and another who wants to vote against it

😂

Tasty facts are tasty.

Let's see what kind of mental gymnastics they can come up with to deflect from this.

Both Trump and Biden are tax and spend sh*t heads; different sides of the same socialist coin.

Say it with me, I know you can do it.

This post being a perfect example of what I mean when I say that the GOP lies and claims it is fiscally conservative.

yeah the older need of 3 weeks. Never mind that Trump wanted a bigger one if reelected

They don't want to vote against it and we're a little past putting the toothpaste back in the tube. They only want to appear to be against it for political reasons. This is about control and paying back favors. If this was truly about money the first and second relief bills would have never passed and been signed

I have no argument. Trump is not in power anymore.

The leftists have all three houses. What are they gonna do?

3 houses?

Anyway, they'll likely do what Trump did when he had them - spend lots of money we don't have and run up the debt

You know what I mean.

And Trump isn't in power anymore. Neither are the Republicans anymore. Full control belongs to the Socialists. More gender studies for Pakistan?

Actually Septic, I am having difficulty trying to navigate a response to a post. My first time. I meant to reply to Lawgater when he/she posted that neither party was "fiscally conservative." My reply is that no party is fiscally responsible except one's self.

He's not in power but his spending will have lasting effects that should be discussed. So should the fact that the fiscal conservatives recently poked their heads out, saw no shadow and decided it was safe to be against spending again.

You spent years talking about Obama yet won't discuss your guy for even 3 weeks? That's pretty cowardly

If you are on mobile there is a "reply" button underneath the post. Bottom right on my browser. It will pull up the post and let you respond in this manner.

You can also "@" someone by using that symbol and typing their name right behind it, and it will notify them if you dont have a post to reply to.

"My guy" did wonderful things for this country. We were on a great path until the Chinese attacked us. You can roll the 'national emergency' of the pandemic into this and blame him for that, but I personally feel that is disingenuous, and in a way, cowardly in and of itself. Obama was a total loser policy wise, but even HE says that Xiden has been on the wrong side of EVERY foreign policy issue placed in front of him.

And his response was terrible. It's his job to respond to those events and make the best of them. Trump didnt.

Perhaps. When you have to battle dolts like Newsome and Cuomo, it doesn't help. Seems I read something about unused hospital ships and temporary hospitals in NY. Yet the case/death rate there...

But yeah... Trump's fault.
