Crompton is a go for sat

rainy weather won't bode well for a pass happy offense. IMO

There is a 10% chance of rain Saturday in Fayetteville.

So now we are discussing a QB that hasn't been named the starter yet, having to deal with a weather condition that isn't going to happen.

Jesus Christ.

How about discussing how good ole Doug Dickey is going to out-coach Lee Corso while we are at it?

What about our non-existant running game. All season long we have had a mediocre ground attack. Historiclly we have some good yardage in novemember when our running game stalled througout the season. Last year is a great example. So what if our o-line jells the way i think they potetionally can. What if we shove the ball down there throught. Play a little ball control football of our own. Mac cant hurt us if hes on the sideline. If we do have an inexpereinced qb out there & its not lsu s defense I think we have a breakout game running the football. Just my thoughts..... Go Vols Baby

This Razorback fan certainly isn't counting them out. Hell, I'm just hoping Arkansas plays well. In fact, I've seen very few Razorback fans count the Vols out here, or on the Arkansas boards.

yea you guys in here, other than the friendly smack talking (which is healthy by the way), have been very respectful. a lot of folks out there think this one is arkansas' game to lose. you should hear the sports talk show i listen to every day. I was more or less being general in my broad "everyone" statement and certainly not the HAWG fans on this board. I have gained a whole new respect for Razorback fans. I was at the 98 game and it was a nightmare with my redneck uncle and a few UA fans. I love this UT-ARK rivalry. I wish we played ya'll every year. I was more or less saying how the Big Orange has found a way to win tough road games lately as a big under dog. I hope you guys stick around for a while. Different points of view make this forum more enjoyable.:clapping:

Yes, I know. I hear it out here, too. Quiet frankly, I wish they'd all just stop until the game has been played.
But I guess that's what they get paid for.

I wish the Hogs and Vols played more often, too. But man, Tennessee with their 12-2 series record....:salute:

I feel completely confident about Crompton starting. He pretty much started against LSU and performed very well. He didn't panic, as many inexperienced QBs probably would have against the best defense in the country. Also, he adds a whole new dimension to our offense - a mobile QB. Crompton is no Michael Vick (thank God!), but he can pick up a handful of yards when he scrambles. As he showed against one of LSU's DBs, he can run over people as well, although we don't necessarily want him doing that too much. Without a dependable ground, a mobile QB such as Crompton is very valuable to our offense.

With that said, I still think Ainge should be starting in whatever bowl game we go to. He should be rested and allowed to recuperate these last three games so that he is completely healthy around bowl time.

I thought Crompton played well, and with all the extra time I am sure he is getting this week, he ought to be even better. Now, on the road .... that may be a problem.

If Ainge is close to 100 percent, you have to go with him. But if not, I think you put Crompton in and have confidence in him. Yes, he will make some mistakes. but he has desire and increasing experience and I would think he'd be able to get a lot done for you.

Agree. Hope Ainge can go but if not Crompton should fill in quite nicely. Would give the Razorbacks a little breathing room.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I think JC adds a completely different dimension to the UT offense, especially with the lack of an effective rushing attack otherwise. With him at the helm, look to see a few "Tebow-esque" plays and a more mobile pocket.

I also agree 100%. But as with LSU he will make some Freshman mistakes. This is what I meant with breathing room. Hopefully not much. When he was on in that game he was fun to watch. Also frustrating watching him make some of those mistakes. But he is just a redshirt freshman.

Please re-read the comments. No one is terribly offended, just embarrassed for you. Your post was just sorely lacking in the funny department. No big deal. I, for one, will not outcasted you, but I hope I can still consider myself a true fan if I call him McFadden.

We're not "true" fans because it's not funny to make a play on someone's name like that?
