Crompton makes Teblow & Stafford look like children

Our defense lost this game. Specifically our 3rd down defense. 11-17 on 3rd and 4th down, with the majority of those longer than 7 yards.

That is not a talent problem. It's starting to look like a decade long philosophical problem.

That is the best assessment I have read so far. Crompton came into the game and competed hard for 3 quarters. He made a few mistakes and made some great plays with the help of an all american reciever. The ball has to be delivered to Meachams immediate vicinity in order to be caught though.
Crompton is a gamer and our future is very very bright.

I don't think it's the inability to choose. I think it's like what we had last year. None of those guys truly want it. When you have Stafford doing outstanding coming off the bench rather than starting, it shows he's not the go-getter he was played up to be. I don't think Bobo can clear the cobwebs out like Cut did with Ainge. Either Richt is going to have to step in to the QB situation directly or they just squandered a great HS talent.
The situation was different... Yeah, Ainge needed a mental retooling. But I think the main thing in fixing a QB's offense is getting the offense around him working. With a talent like Ainge has, just give him some confidence in his surroundings, nudge him and he can make the leap. I'd assume the same about Stafford, he's definitley got the potential to be a great QB.

I think Richt just needs to step in, maybe shorten the playbook for now, simplify the offense so Stafford can make the reads he needs to and safely get the ball out. Then progress him from there.
