Cross on the mound for Easter at the baseball game [MOVED]

Not a fan of this. The same people celebrating putting a cross on the mound would be angry if they put a crescent and star on the mound for the month of Ramadan. Neither offends me and I respect and admire each religion's time of worship and their adherent's love of such time; however, secular institutions should not put religious symbols on their fields and it shouldn't be celebrated when it does happen, even if it is your religion's symbol on the field.

That's because we're founded as a,Christian nation.

One action is showing respect, one action is showing disrespect. Two totally different concepts.

Kneeling is not a sign of disrespect, actually. I mean, how would Jesus take it if you kneeled before him? Would he cancel you?

And, you know, people - in my opinions and in my experience, kneeling's never been in our history really seen as a disrespectful act. I mean, people kneel when they get knighted. You kneel to propose to your wife, and you take a knee to pray. And soldiers often take a knee in front of a fallen brother's grave to pay respects. So I thought, if anything, besides standing, that was the most respectful.

Yeah, I'm sure the players were honoring the flag. :D

BLM & LGBT are a religion unto themselves
You probably say this tongue-in-cheek but the reality is leftism (including the weird BLM, LGBTBBQ+/?>, and Branch COVIDian movements) are literally what people fill the "religious" hole present in all humans with. It explains the extremism, the anger, the hostility they have almost to a man.

Kamara sat his ass down, so there's that.

Kapernick was trying to do his protest in a respectful way. Don't try to make it about the nameless players who were kneeling. We don't know their intent. The point is you guys were butthurt about the guy who we know for a ****ing fact was trying to do his protest in a respectful manner.

Most people like to be part of something bigger than themselves.

For some that is organized religion
For some that is a specific cause

But the dynamics are very similar. The Covid freaks view Fauci as some sort of miniature deity.

On what? Facts? You conveniently believe whatever you want to believe. I'll believe what the military vet involved in the situation is saying.

On what facts are you basing your opinion? His word? Give me a break. "I've effed up so I better shine as good a light as I can on it."

Do you seriously not know what's happening right now? I'm basing it on a 3rd party's word, and we have no reason not to believe him.

You need to figure out if Kapernick was trying to troll or not. You can't have it both ways.

Could not agree more. A Muslim symbol on the mound with a black militant Muslim pitching would have a lot of people flipping out.

So I heard from a friend who heard from a friend who heard form another. Seem to remember a song like that. You can believe what you want. I'll believe what I witnessed. Regardless of who told the story it's still CK's narative.

So why would a country founded on Christianity react against a Muslim tradition on a Christian holiday celebrating the re-birth of Christ? Go stick your head up your ass because that's where it belongs.

From the googles:

Religions and ideologies present important differences. The main one stems from the sources of authority they rely on. Religions refer to God, or gods or a superior principle; ideologies only deal with terrestrial realities
Terrestrial realities.... does gender dysphoria mean that a man is in fact a woman if they believe it? I'm not trying to offend anyone but seriously ideologies are not always ingrained in reality

You think that Kapernick meant to disrespect (based on literally nothing). You also think he changed to kneeling because of the way the public reacted to his sitting (again, based on nothing). You also think that a veteran is lying about Kapernick trying to be more respectful. These ideas cannot coexist.

You cannot even call a fact a fact. Testimony of a conversation is not an opinion. It might be a lie, but it is not an opinion.

Some of the founders were Christians, but a more accurate thing to say is that we were founded by deists. Muslims are deists.
