i don't know... but michigan hasn't done anything to prove they aren't the second best team
What about the loss yesterday? Are we just supposed to change the way that the polls have always worked historically (when you lose a game late in the season, you drop below teams with the same number of losses that lost their games much earlier in the season) because ESPN has decided to sell the idea of a Ohio State/Michigan rematch this year?
That game wasn't even as close as the final score indicated. Michigan scored with a few seconds left to pull within 3 points.
It doesn't matter when you score.
And they scored with 2:30, its not like time ran out on the touchdown.
The fact of the matter is that they had their shot to beat Ohio State, and they failed to do so. The polls have always penalized teams for losses late in the season, but the media crowned these two teams as the best two teams in the nation at the midpoint of this season, and they starting selling the idea of a rematch of this game for the national championship three weeks prior to these two teams even playing.
Michigan lost. It's time for another team to get a shot.
