I am overdue for a return to Ktown and Neyland. Y'all let me know if there's a VN gathering of some sort afoot, if you have an extra ticket which I may acquire, etc. :hi:
Did you ever get a steak at Big Verns in Shamrock, TX?
And, Behr, I got the chow chow made from my great grandmothers recipe.
If Joe will come to a game in Knoxville, Ill take him a jar. Im not selfish.
What game? I sell my two big games each year to cover cost of tickets and donation (you know, FL, AL, GA whatever are the big draws for the season). Any of the other games I would have a ticket to spare, unless we have friends come in to go. Let me know if you ever get a definite date. Also have two extra center court Lady Vols tickets if you want to see them play.
Never have eaten at any notable places in Texas. I can imagine that the steaks in Texas are really good.
I dont know if its notable or not. I generally dont eat meat, can spend weeks in Europe and never let a piece of the stuff cross my lips, dont miss it one bit when its not around. That said, Ill plan a trip home from CA via Shamrock to get a Big Vern steak.😍😍😍😍😍😍
Where in Texas is Shamrock?
I've had steaks from many a place and I would guess the one that my tastebuds miss most is the Kensington Club steak I got from Steak and Ale in Shreveport, La, in 1984.
Its barely in Texas driving I40 west; or almost out of TX driving I40 east. I think that is called the panhandle section. First time we just needed a stop coming home, asked around and everybody (not that there were many😂 said Big Verns. When we got to it, I almost left, combination gas station/consignment store/50s diner, but really no where else to go. It was soooo good! Now on our trips we plan stops there so we can eat at BVs.
