Stfu dawgs?

I love'em. You would think they would be popular down here, but nope. Hard to find and the ones you do are frozen from a bag.

When I make them I like to use white corn meal and I'll make them "plain" with just onion, and spicy with Jalapeno, onion and red pepper. I like to dip them in ketchup, tarter sauce and mustard with Tabasco.

You'd think they'd be plentiful around here. I found one bbq place that list them on their menu. We go their bbq with all the fixin's including hushpuppies. They absolutely sucked.

I'll dip them in almost anything. Hell, I've even dipped them in my sweet tea before.

I love hush puppies. My favorites are "plain" with onions. The number of restaurants which can fugg up hush puppies continues to amaze me. I've not made these at home in decades...

We've never attempted to make them before, but, I guess if I want some, I gotta learn.

That they were.

Now, to be fair, back in the 80s, HBPW used to by frozen in the bag. They were shaped like a cat turd (for lack of a better comparison) but they were damned good.

Those were clam strips.

Lulz, cat turd shaped hush puppies, never seent'um.

I just spent the last 10 minutes on Google with no luck finding them. Like I said, it's been a long time.

The restaurant I worked at in high school and college had hush puppies, gave them out free and people would chow down on them. They sold a mix to make at home, but I never tried. Had no reason when I could eat them daily.

We stopped by food city today to get some cold cuts. While there, I looked to see what kind of hush puppies they sold in the freezer section. They sell NONE of the frozen ones. I didn't look at mixes.

What alternate universe am I living in?

Yea, I really liked it. Mal and I were talking about it not long ago and he said he had never seen it.

Damn. I should have stuck with watching the movie instead if checking out VN. My night is ruined.

RIP Mr. Ward.

You are always right.

I have been looking for it locally. Now, on to Amazon.

Dagumitt. One drastic change I've noticed since I haven't been smoking. I don't care too much for coffee anymore. Really weird.

Ouch! Well that fawker had more surgeries from water skiing than I did from motocross, so there's that. :)

I rode Hondas, CR at the time, and was a big fan of Marty Smith, then the Hurricane blew through, that's when I got my first YZ.

Some consider him 2nd or 3rd all time best behind McGrath and Carmichael, but he's a clear #1 in my book.

Check out the Isle of Man TT. That is some crazy motorcycle riding.

Behr, whats your go to butt rub?

Tee 'em high and let 'em fly

Only thing I could come up with was ask someones wife/girlfriend, but I didn't feel like going there. You could ask Tin Man what he fantasizes rubbing on my butt, but send him an email...I'm sure no one here including me wants to know.

I don't use a rub.

I brine mine in molasses, pickling salt, and water over night and then put a rub on them. No salt or sugar in the rub, just spices.

Thats my PG version...

I just pour a little Apple Cider Vinegar on it, salt, pepper and granulated garlic. Dats it.

The last one I did was in a crock pot, Bill and I discussed it. I don't have my notes in front of me, but I used a bottle of liquid smoke and a little ACV in the water and I gotta say, it was awesome. At least next best thing.

I've heard of people seasoning ribs and splashing them with liquid smoke, then wrapping them tightly in cling wrap and throwing them in the oven.

I just prefer my ribs and butts out of the smoker. I do use the tip you gave me about finishing them in the oven wrapped in foil.
