If you want to explain, you can can explain it right here. But the only thing I don't understand is why would anyone want more people to understand it?

The reason I ask is the ones that already understand it, understand it. The ones that don't, won't. Not in the way the others do. The way it should be understood.

Understanding how and why people form their ideas is intriguing to me. I don't agree with a lot that I receive when I ask for clarity. But someone who can walk me through the how and why of what they think and the conclusions they've reached sparks different ways to consider my ideas. Both about the subject discussed and other subjects.

Since that approach is important to me, I offer to others if they want. I don't need (or care) if others understand as a bridge to agreement. To be completely candid, I've never been troubled by what others think about me. If others don't care about understanding my thought process, that's completely fine, too.

I guess if "I wish more people understood their day to day lives aren't going to be affected much" means that they need to be more concerned with long term, I misunderstood.

I don't see evidence the long term is tracking the way I would ideally like to see it. I have abandoned my hope the future will be what I thiink it should be. I am resigned that we move in the wrong direction (in many ways) at a glacial pace.

All that's fine, but you lost me on what your point is concerning my post. I wasn't saying I thought you were wrong, I was just telling you that your comment made me think, and I went back and forth on my opinion on it and then what I settled on.

100%. If I didn't have faith in my Lord and an eternity of perfection with all the Saints, I would be a much different person. America is important to me. I adore what I think this country is supposed to stand for. So much so, that I could make it my god and politics my religion. Thankfully, I have a Savior to invest my devotion and faith into.

My hope is in heaven. I have walked away from Sodom and Gomorrah (america) and I am not looking back.
