Chicago School Board Approves Measure To Do Away With ‘ranking’ schools after ‘longstanding structural racism’

Chicago Public Schools on Wednesday voted unanimously to pass a 5-year strategic plan that vows a “renewed focus on equity” and moves away from ranking schools based on student outcomes.

“Everything is done through an equity lens,” CPS Chief Executive Officer Pedro Martinez said at the Special Board Meeting on Wednesday before the vote.

Martinez went on to say, “Our new approach does away with school rankings and labels and just like our shift in defining student success, we’re not just going to look at a narrow set of outcome data…” He continued, “we’re going to be tracking and focusing the inputs on practices, conditions, resources, supports, and putting the onus back on the district to ensure that each school has the components to drive student success.”

A “social justice academy” run by a California school district teaches elementary school kids to disavow “whiteness” and embrace transgender ideology, lesson plans shared with The Daily Wire show.

Every summer since 2021, the New Haven Unified School District in San Francisco has trained rising 3rd-6th graders in leftist gender and racial politics during its annual “social justice academy.” Specific details about the academy’s curriculum were revealed in documents recently obtained from the school by Parents Defending Education through a public records request.

“Scholars will define and critically think about Social Justice, identify social injustices in the community, and create opportunities for activism through writing, action, art,” according to a plan from 2023 for the academy, which operates in deep blue Alameda County.

DOJ Tells Four Police, Fire Departments That It’s Racist To Expect Employees To Know Basic Math

The Biden-Harris Department of Justice has undertaken a slew of lawsuits against local police and fire departments alleging that it is racist to require hires entrusted with public safety to know basic math.

The lawsuits undermine Kamala Harris’s attempts to brand herself as a moderate in the final weeks of the presidential campaign, with the suits both suggesting a dim view of blacks by the administration, and employing the theory of “disparate impact,” the radical theory that holds that anytime there are statistical racial disparities, racism must be the cause — even if no one can explain how.

On Friday, the DOJ’s civil rights unit filed a lawsuit against South Bend, Indiana, saying “South Bend uses a written examination that discriminates against Black applicants and a physical fitness test that discriminates against female applicants,” The Daily Wire previously reported.

But that was just one of the lawsuits, which claim that tests are racist because blacks fail them at a higher percentage than whites, and require cash awards to be paid to those blacks who failed them. Most blacks generally pass the tests, and the lawsuits do not explain how the tests can be racist against only some blacks. Blacks who passed the tests are excluded from the financial payouts.
