Cuonzo made the Hot Seat list...

It's all Cuonzo. The kids are not a problem.

Maymon didn't come back 100 percent but others could pick up the slack.

Hubbs playing hurt and bowing out wasn't that big a deal.

Barton not playing at the level most people on here were sure he would wasn't huge. We have a promising freshman PG that's gonna be really good soon.

Other guys not showing up once every other game or so could easily be overcome by our deep lineup.

That Cuonzo. Definitely 100 percent his fault we are not an NCAA lock by now.

It is Cuonzo's job to coach these players to play to the best of their ability each and every game. That is what he makes the big bucks to do. Cuonzo is not doing his job very well.

This I agree with. Although it is no secret that Hart is watching him very closely and will continue to moniter his progression through the remainder of this season. CCM knows what he has to do to keep his job and Hart has told him this as recent as last week. If Martin does not make it into the tourney then he is gone. If he does make it in even if he limps in then Hart will retain him for another year but with no extension.

Good to know that he gets no extension because of simply making the tourney. The thought had crossed my mind that if he "limped" in, it would be good enough for Hart. Glad that's not the case.

Save it mod, know body is buying what you're selling.

What do you mean by that? I was wondering how he gets fired for being listed on a hot seat. You got a problem w that

Plus I had to read this twice to understand your grammar

Anytime someone uses Wiki as the link for facts Ib disregard immediately.
You should use some facts every once in a while, it might help with credibility.

That's funny, since the information in those Wiki links you despise so much is the exact same information you use to attempt to prove a point.

You can disregard it... except those records and everything he posted is correct.

I'M against multi- year contracts with huge buy outs. Compensation and tenure should be based on performance and results. :dunno:

Not saying you're wrong, but most people thought the same thing about Wade Houston. It's as big a crapshoot as hiring a mid-major guy, IMO.
I hear you but we are not exactly a basketball power house. I know people say they would like to hire Jaime Dixon or the guy from vilanova but why would they leave, they make just as much money if not more at there respected schools not to mention there sport is the biggest at there school. They come here they are second fiddle to football. So a mid major guy or a assistant coach is as good as we get.

Yeah I never understood why people thought Dixon or Wright would come to UT from big time basketball schools.

He will not get fired this year. Will you stay a fan.

I'll always be a UT fan and will pull for my team. Doesn't mean I have to like the product on the hardwood.

Admit it, you would like to know what CBP could do with this roster?

If Cuonzo Martin became a free agent today would he get hired as a head coach before next season? If so, would it be at a better or worse job than UT?
Better job. He wouldn't have the struggle that Bruce left behind. Have fun keeping your team focused when there's talk like that.

Gonna have to respectfully disagree with you here. I challenge you to point to a single coaching attribute that would justify a high major pulling the trigger on him right now.

and Hart does not give him an extension, could be Hart pushing CCM to the door to find another job. Avoids a buyout and CCM could look attractive to another school...

just a thought

The only school CCM would look attractive too would be The Tennessee School for the Blind.

There are much worse names on this list than Cuonzo. And honestly, I don't see a drastically better hire with the exception of Pearl (pipe dream). Give me Pearl or give me death cause Tennessee basketball is dead without Bruce Pearl. If we ain't bringing him home, might as well keep Cuonzo.

Even stronger than my desire to bring back Bruce (which is strong), is my fear that Alabama will hire him. If that were to happen, what is your estimate on the number of mattresses burned in Knoxville? Or would there be torches and pitchforks in front of Cheek's house?

Great article. He won't be on the seat long, not after we win out, win the SECT, and make the sweet 16.

Does ANYONE on this board see a lengthy winning streak in this team? Thus far, our longest streak has been 4 games and that was primarily before the conference schedule.

There is no way on God's green earth that Martin would get a better job than UT if he was on the market this spring. ZERO CHANCE.

This is one of the worst jobs to coach at IMO. It's really really hard to replace the dynasty that Bruce left behind. Martin won't get hired at a university with better facilities or resources, but he would get hired at a university that had his support. Support of the coach > Facilities/resources. Ask Ben Howland how support carries you a long way.
