Explain why Stokes and Golden have regressed. They both pretty much stink right now.

Stokes is missing Maymon badly, plus he's 18 and essentially a freshman. Golden started the season as his normal self and his current poor play began with the injury. I don't know if it's mental or what at this point.

Stokes as a freshman is not a legit excuse anymore. He has not developed at all and for most of the game is a non factor. Sometimes a negative with his FT shooting

I've never seen a team that tried so hard to loose...one minute they look as though they can beat the world and then the next they act like they have no idea of what a basketbasll is....and I thought I was lost...almost as bad as some of the debacle's in Neyland...

We were picked last year to finish last in the conference and finished 2nd. He's beaten multiple ranked teams and teams we weren't picked to win against, including doing so on the road. Cute thread though.

This is ain't last year.....we are gonna finish dead last THIS YEAR.....who gives a crap about last year

Golden is a small forward in a guard body trying to play point. He has had some injuries also. But he's not spectacular.

Stokes has no duo post compliment. With Maymon down Hall is not the guy to provide the same game as Maymon would.
Stokes has some skill set issues that need to be worked on. It will come and you'll be glad he's wearing orange when it does.

There is so much more Stokes needs to improve than having another post with him.

It can't be denied how important was Maymon was for Stokes last year. We're seeing those troubles of playing without him this year. He's still averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds as an 18 year old, which are actually slightly better numbers than last season. We're seeing the classic 5 star backlash I suppose. I'll agree, he is hurting us at times and needs to put forth more effort out there.

I am disappointed in the way coach Martin played the last few seconds of the ball game. Down just 3 points and I am saying to myself "what should we do"? My thoughts were to get a 2point basket and when the ball comes in is to fowl one of their bad foul shooter. What do we do. Well we take 2 3 point shots and miss both of them. Ball game over! That should not have happen. That is a big mistake on the coaches part. Another disappointment was to see that the terrible foul shooting continued with our big guy inside. He needs to get on the foul line and practice until he can hit those foul shots in the dark.

Ole Miss handed Mizzou their ass. They don't suck. UT shot like MU did down the stretch. Happens.

I don't think people are over reacting. IMO this team is regressing....half time adjustment are lacking, FT shoot is terrible this year, and this offense is on the same level as Kevin O'Neil. I think when we drop out of the top 10 (top 5 last few years) in national attendance, the administration will have to take a hard look.

We lucked out that Pearl was able to resurrect our program. The least they can ask for is the current HC to keep it going. Yes, football is the economic driver of the athletic budget, but when mens and women's bball are doing well they are self sustaining. I guess the point I'm making is pick your poison with Martin. The way I see it is you get rid of him if we are in the same boat next year and deal with the pay out OR your athletic dept will feel the pressure to support a sinking bball program as ticket sales and concessions drop when the fans stay at home due to the product on the floor.

Do I want Martin to succeed, Yes. Will I continue to purchase season tickets to both bball and football, Yes. I'm just tired of watching once proud programs struggle.

Sorry for the rant.
