I don't mind criticism. Calling for a coach to be fired not even 1.5 years into his tenure is absurd especially after he lost his best and most experienced player. It was beyond stupid.

Again, there's a reason the majority of those people make less than 40K per year and don't have the slightest clue in how an AD is run.

Criticism and calling for our coach to fired after a season and a half are two different things.

As fans we can say we disagree with something the coach says or does. But good grief even if we had sucked it up the rest of the year this year, when is the last time UT has gotten two 5 star basketball players to come here in 2 out of the last 3 years???

but at the time the results for this season weren't too far off. The comparison may have been a bit overboard but that's what happens when comments are made while things are happening.

No, that's what happens when you have a knee jerk reaction like a 12 year old little school girl instead of letting things play out.

I've said numerous times the jury is still out on Martin. He'll get at least 3 years. He'll be given that at least. If he doesn't have the team where it should be by then, we'll be looking for another coach. To say he should be fired not even 1.5 years into his tenure was typical knee jerk reaction from fans who don't have the slightest clue.

well heck, let's just not allow any opinions until after every season has finished. Should lead to great discussions and really emphasize the point of a message board

you should also quit acting like it was a popular opinion to fire Martin. It wasn't

I could care less if someone gives their opinion. However, when they come in here half cocked and saying, "Faaahr Kwanzo!!", they deserve to get called out.

And just where the hell have you been then? There were countless posts from the same suspects calling for Martin to be fired. You need to pay better attention. That tells me right there that you haven't been reading the threads.

I read plenty of the threads. It was not a common opinion but any criticism of Martin was met with opposition that was almost equally ridiculous

What difference does it make, that it wasnt the common opinion? We arent blasting everybody, just the trolls calling for CCM to be fired and comparing him to Fooley.

Then you obviously missed the Legion of the Miserables going on and on of how Martin should be fired.

I can't believe you would even attempt to say that it wasn't a common opinion amongst the Miserables. I guess myself, Sparty and bTNo are just making sh*t up. Good Lord.

I guarantee you that anyone that was opposing the firing of Martin was not looking nearly as absurd as the people who wanted him fired 14 games into his first season or 1.5 years into his tenure.

Again, look at the roster of what he inherited and the NCAA crap he had to come in on and then how he lost his best player. Sometimes, patience is needed. When you act like a 12 year old girl, you have no clue what that is.

maybe not making things up but I believe you're mistaken. In no way did I ever see it as more than a couple of posters going over the top on their criticisms. I can assure you I read the posts/threads

How about am educated opinion...not declaring Martin the next Dooley halfway through a season. Or saying goodbye Cuonzo after 15 games his first year.

I'm all for criticism, because Martin definitely deserved it, but there's some people who took things way too far and the fact they're nowhere to be found when things are going good makes them look like nothing but trolls.

a couple of posters out of hundreds and that's where you focus your attention. It was not a widely-held opinion and UT couldn't afford it even if it was. Frustrated people occasionally go overboard
