I don’t think I’m dense at all! Sorry you’re so upset about a baseball game. But again, WF and LSU are far from being frauds.

And I can’t count how many times someone in here has talked about LSU being “bought and paid for.” You know your Vols tried to “buy” Skenes as well right? Whether we like it or not (which I don’t btw), this is the NIL era. This is what happens now. You either get with it or get left behind.

Also, I love how everyone keeps talking about how crappy LSU’s bullpen is. They’re one win away from making the CWS final, so I hope they stay crappy! lol Here’s the facts… None of their pitchers are as good as Skenes. Then again, no one else in the country is either. But, everyone wants to think the rest of our pitchers suck simply bc they’re not as good as Skenes. It’s a bad take, bc those boys can pitch.

The quality of the LSU pitching staff (minus Skeens) has been greatly under estimated. It was assumed that once Skeens was done, LSU had nothing. I have been HIGHLY impressed with the quality of arms they have run out there following Skeens. And the LSU manager has managed them brilliantly. Got to give credit where credit is due.

Yep, they have been much better than advertised and done quite well. I'll add that our Achilles heal is soft-throwing lefties, and that is exactly what they threw at us.

I attended both Wake Vs LSU games in CWS, and am headed to tonight’s game. I will say that Wake has lived off on HR ball this year in their small and very hitter friendly park.

With the wind fiercely blowing in, there will be no HRs to CF or the alleys. Only down the lines. Not sure what it will be doing tonight, but Omaha is a BIG pitcher friendly park—especially with that crazy wind. Should be a great game! Go Wake!

I mean no disrespect here, but if you've watched this CWS, you would know half or more of these games could have gone the other way.

In addition, things change over the course of the year.

Florida's pitching went from so-so earlier in the year to flat out dominant at this point in time.

Wake Forest is currently 54-11 on the year which means they are damn good. The ACC is a damn fine baseball league as well. I think the SEC is better too, but the ACC isn't a cake walk.

Bottom line, there are 3 teams in America still able to win a national title. Wake Forest is one of them.

Calling a team a "fraud" when they are winning is puzzling. And if LSU beats them......I mean damn. That's the standard for being a fraud. Losing two games to LSU?

Yes, we offered Skenes an NIL deal and it was attractive enough to get him leaning hard, if not possibly committing, until LSU came in and doubled the offer. At some point there’s such thing as chasing bad business and it’s not worth it so we bowed out.

There is no number we could’ve paid Skenes that would’ve been “not worth it”.
