My high school in Alpharetta, GA has a really neat ball park and it might be my all time favorite and I've been to "quite a few" MLB park. My high school ball park home plate, 1st and 3rd baselines have minimal seating because those sides were created by using dynamite into rock. The field is perfectly level, as good or better than minor league team. The drainage is what was used at Ted Turner stadium which had drainage tiles and suction under the tiles to drain the field quickly after a downpour.

The school's sidewalk is about 25- 30' above home plate so when the limited seating runs out, people sit on the remaining rocks on the slope or lean on the rail along the sidewalk. IDK, I just think it's cool that they made such a huge effort and you can't help but see the field when going from the student parking lot to the front entrance to the school.

On senior day they cut the lawn the senior's shirt numbers are in the outfield.

Remember when the fan base ran out on their first year football coach and emptied Tiger stadium by the third quarter? A mere three years after winning it all. Let’s see what happens when times are tough and they can’t front run before we call it a dynasty.

Hell of a year for LSU, Florida and Tennessee. They’ve represented the SEC, and the sport as a whole, about as good as you can this season.

Even with gobs of money, it has to be used wisely and the coaching has to be good-great. Face, in the 2020s that's what it takes to win in the major sports. Money spent on recruiting nation wide, facilities, coaches, equipment, specialty dorms, etc.

If you're interested, you should see on youtube how NCAA basketball players live with their oversize everything in their incredibly nice dorm rooms, with over size furniture. Some schools provide a cook/chef right in their dorm building that makes them pretty much whatever they want. I think the most extreme example was UK basketball had access too.

Don’t forget about the no show hospital job the UK football player got. Oscar Tshibwie probably had an office next to Gotti Jr’s at the sanitation workers local 148.

Disagree-UT has been far better than that and we’ve been much worse for a lot longer. Also weren’t just coming off a championship in support of a new coach they broke the bank for. That’s just being spoiled front runners that think being a drunken lout equates to fandom. I’ll give them credit for Jell-O shot records but they’re not the fan base they think they are.

Alpharetta High School. It's in north georgia about 25 miles north of Atlanta. The surrounding 4 other high schools have really nice fields too. They just weren't created by repeated blowing a hole into rock haha.

Within a couple mile radius there are 5 high schools that have really, really nice athletic facilities. There is no shortage of money in the area and while Chipper Jones live nearby I know he threw some money at those fields and that lead to Smoltz throwing some at other school whenever they were upgrading. I think Smoltz gave the neighboring high school $1m for their football field.

MOST high schools struggle having adequate facilities, but around here it's become almost competitive philanthropy. Coca Cola recently covered the cost of Alpharetta's new football turf and put in a new basketball floor even though the "old one" was fine and at most 10 years old and still in great shape. AT&T and Verizon are in the area, Siemen's, Home Depot etc.

My high school has two complete TV news studios donated by WTVH, so we can (and I did) take a few courses in TV, Video, Video media production classes. It seems like every summer, something was upgraded to state of the art and not just sports. Carpeting rooms, the school's auditorium is really, really nice.

My last two years of high school? Breakfast, lunch, snacks were free AND the quality was as good as any food court I've ever been to or heard about. Really impressive.

Like I said, competitive philanthropy is kind of thing around here.

Congrats to LSU. Although in every sport only one team wins it all, of all of the sports finishing close to being last man standing in baseball is actually somewhat satisfying. Even the best major league teams hope to win a bit more than half their games. In baseball the edges are very small, and fleeting.

These lists are pretty neat, but I'm NGL, I'm a little confused by Arkansas placement in the overall list being 3rd, given they are 6th on both the Men's and Women's individual list.

Maybe you both should just donate $500 to The Volunteer Club? Just seems like the right thing to do IMO.

I just wanted to thank the mods and everyone who posted in this thread.
It's been a great baseball year, hopefully the Vols can take that next step in 2024.
