Noticed that Green only had one carry last night in the Michigan bowl game and wondered if he is still considering a transfer? If so, would we still want him? i know there has been a thread about this before, but haven't seen anything lately. He is a big back we could use as Hurd and the others coming are freshman and you never know how they will pan out. He has a year of college under his belt and would be a good compliment to Lane while Hurd develops.

If he isn't good enough to play in the Big 10........

He might just have lost to Appalachian State and beat Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer.

That happened.

Michigan beat Florida after losing to Appalachian State. Impressive...

Not to mention the obvious... Florida lost to Georgia Southern this year.

I vote that we bring up Georgia Southern. They're better than the Big 10, they're better than Florida.

He would have to sit out a year if he did come so it doesn't matter. By the time he would be able to play, Hurd will have been here a year also.

He didn't want us then, we don't want him now.

He wouldn't be a complement to Lane because he would never play with Lane. He would have to sit out a year.

That happened. Yeah, and Tennessee beat the hell out of Michigan in 2001. What does that have to do with the here and now?

Michigan beat Florida after losing to Appalachian State. Impressive...then getting blown out by Mississippi State then next year...whacked by Bama the next....then South Carolina beats them in bowl game.

Not to mention the obvious... Florida lost to Georgia Southern this year. Yeah.....bad teams lose. Florida was a bottom of the league team this year.

I vote that we bring up Georgia Southern. They're better than the Big 10, they're better than Florida.

HAHAHA! I think by reaching this far you made my point for me.

I'd take him, it doesn't hurt to, plus a big part of why he hasn't been successful falls on coaching.
simple example: Jonathan Crompton, went from worst qb ever to 5th round draft pick.
We definitely have the coaches and resources to salvage his talent.

Id take him. We only have 2 scholly RBs right now. Plus, a fresh start does wonders for some players. I'm also a firm believer that a 5 star like Hurd needs healthy competition for him to earn his carries, not be handed the job based on star ranking.

I would say that because he didn't want to be here in the first place that we shouldn't want him. However, who honestly would want to play for the past coaching staff?

I would still say no and build on this years class and those that follow.

Not that I wouldn't like to have him, but we need as many 4 year players as we can get. We are currently getting some solid talent and if we can continue to get top 10 classes, build the depth and have players sit and develop then we will have a shot at returning to glory. Getting classes full of players that will only be here 1-2 years will help us get better, but the constant turnover in talent will limit us. We would also end up with a fair number of busts that only cam here because they weren't good enough to compete at their original school. Those constant busts, instead of 4 years of development would give us the possibility of being a top team but never really being a title contender.

I disagree...

B. Brown went to K State and didn't play. Turns out he is doing pretty good. (the fact that he is on a NFL roster)

Though, with Hurd coming in I highly doubt that Green would want to come to Tennessee and have to play the backup roll to someone younger than he is. He wants to play and get paid in the NFL.

Also, it the coaches could get Green turned around, having 2 5* rb's on roster would be a nice thing. Weren't we in his top 3 when he committed, and one of only 3 official visits he made? I have no idea what his issue at Michigan are, but he's listed @ 6 ft 220+ lbs 4.4 speed, and was the #1 rated rb and # 8 player over all.

So I'm with you Fade, as long as he doesn't have off field issues, I certainly entertain the idea if he leaves UM. You could potentially get similar production from him and Hurd, without having to rely solely on one, and not have as much physical wear and tear by being able to interchange the 2 at rb...seems like a good situation, if it worked out in a perfect world scenario.

I agree with this

A freshman didn't get that many carries or playing time? Wow, he is a waste, he shouldn't have even received a scholly.
