D Green transfer

Im aware Manziel redshirted. But to act like Green is a bust is absurd.

So why are you comparing a redshirt to an active freshman? The guy has a whopping 270 yds. rushing, 3.3 YPC. Compare that to Manziel's first year of actually playing and you have absolutely no argument.

Lane has twice Green's production as our number two with 534 yds, 5.3 YPC ...and Tom Smith was sent packing with 4.0 YPC.

Not that I wouldn't like to have him, but we need as many 4 year players as we can get. We are currently getting some solid talent and if we can continue to get top 10 classes, build the depth and have players sit and develop then we will have a shot at returning to glory. Getting classes full of players that will only be here 1-2 years will help us get better, but the constant turnover in talent will limit us. We would also end up with a fair number of busts that only cam here because they weren't good enough to compete at their original school. Those constant busts, instead of 4 years of development would give us the possibility of being a top team but never really being a title contender.

Ok so he'd have three years of eligibility after his redshirt. Not sure if serious

If he decides to transfer, and wants to come here, can behave himself, makes his grades, and is willing to walk on, bring him on. And if he pans out, then put him on scholarship. The welcome mat was rolled out before, and it rolls out that way only once. From there, he has to really want to be a Vol. That is how it is happening for Pickett, let it be that way for Green.

Noticed that Green only had one carry last night in the Michigan bowl game and wondered if he is still considering a transfer? If so, would we still want him? i know there has been a thread about this before, but haven't seen anything lately. He is a big back we could use as Hurd and the others coming are freshman and you never know how they will pan out. He has a year of college under his belt and would be a good compliment to Lane while Hurd develops.

We don't need him, we got a Hurd that would make himlook like he has been smashed like a turd.:)

These dudes that transfer after they passed us up the year before, go somewhere else not a true VOL from the start get the hill down the road because the BIG ORANGE does not need you or want you.

Neal looked like a totally different back this year and that was largely due to coaching. I would like to see Green with our coaching staff. I think this kid has a tremendous up side. Not crazy about how the Big Ten coaches their backs.

Folks - he doesn't fit in this spread offensive scheme unless he decides to lose 20-25 lbs. to gain some quickness. There is no FB to clear the way for him and he is a Lacey style back that needs a big man blocking line for him to power through.

I do miss the power running game at UT

Why muddy the water with a potential 5* bust that will only prevent 2015 recruits from considering you? I'll take my chances on Butch finding a RB over taking someone who cant play for Brady....

Why is he a punk? Because he chose those scUMbags (who I despise) over my beloved Vols...simple as that. He knew he would be the starter from day 1 and play in the SEC, but he was stupid and chose Asia...I mean Ann Arbor. Pi zz on him...
