Question: Anyone know the record for most times saying "You know" in a 3 minute video?

He said he would be playing running back? He looks real small compared to Michael Dyer at 5'9"/215, which is average SEC RB size for a starter.

LaMichael James is 5'9 180 lbs. :ermm:

Percy Harvin was about 5'11 180 lbs coming in as a freshman.

Please... LMJ getting 49 yards had nothing to do with his size limitations - his offensive line didn't do a damn thing in the game. It's much easier to be a productive running back when your offensive line is actually beating the opposing defensive front - hence Dyer's successes. And mind you, a chunk of Dyer's yardage came on that nonsense play at the end of the game.

PS heard a Lyerla interview on the local station this morning, he was a bit dodgy when they asked him if he was keen on playing LB.

Good kid though. I've met him once, a family friend was on his HS team this season. Typical attitude of a big fish in a small pond, but he's got good work ethic and IMO Oregon landed the two best athletes in the nation this year.

ESPN has Lyerla as the #34 ATH in the country...yeah.

I don't know why anybody looks at ESPN recruiting. Their rankings are all jacked, always seem to be way different from the relative consensus of the rest of the major services.

Lyerla is a freak of nature. He could develop into a starter at TE, OLB or WR for nearly any D-IA program.

FWIW Oregon's release says that Lyerla is being counted currently as a .... WR!

Every indication is that he's going to get a chance to play receiver, which will be interesting because he's got great agility and speed for his size and his athleticism might make for devastating blocking downfield on running plays.

I'm a bit surprised... I figured they'd line him up at OLB. They don't really need the help on offense, and with the pace Kelly plays the game, playing both sides of the ball isn't really an option unless it's every other drive or something.

Chip Kelly gives players the chance to play where they want first. If they see that they can get on the field quicker by playing a different position and they want to do that, then he helps them facilitate the change.

I suppose, but that's a bit problematic... Athletic guys like Lyerla and Thomas could play either side of the ball, and there are naturally going to be a lot of those types attracted to the Ducks, but if they can't hack it at the position they want, or even hack it on offense right off the bat (Lyerla said early pt is very important to him) there might be one or two butthurt transfers from very talented ball players.

I hope Kelly was real with these guys and told them that there was a very distinct possibility that they could end up on D.

it's the smart move. let the kid figure it out on his own. not getting on the field will be plenty motivation to switch. never understood some people refusing to recruit kids if they want to play offense (outside of qb that is).

Because they have the best rankings, crafted by people who've actually been around the game? Look at the resumes of the rivals bunch, and then look at the resumes of ESPN's bunch. Night and day difference.

With that said, I think they're off a bit on Lyerla.
