He had two 1000 yard rushing seasons. PERIOD.
For a guy hyped as the best RB ever in college, that is downright sad.
You are one of the absolute worst people at contextual awareness I've ever seen.
Walker averaged over 30 carries a game for his college career. He then went on to the USFL where he had 412 carries followed by 293 carries followed by 438 carries.
Let's put a face on this...Walker had 1083 college carries (including bowls) in only 3 years. That's 361 carries a season. Adrian Peterson had 748, or 249 a season. Walker went to the USFL and spent another 3 years at 381 carries per season. All this before his first NFL carry.
So he takes his first game NFL snap with 2226 carries worth of wear off the tires but still manages to avg more ypc than Dorsett on some pretty poor Dallas teams that only win 14 games over the next two season. In '88 Dorsett is gone and Walker becomes the starter and goes for 1514 yards rushing (2nd behind Dickerson) with another 505 receiving. (though still on a lousy Dallas team) A damn fine season. I also think it pretty much finished him. By the time he got through the 89 season, only his 4th in the NFL, his carries had dropped off by 30% and his count was up to 3197 in his football career. Peterson's 3 college and 10 year NFL career are today only at 3166. Sure he kept playing, and producing, but he simply couldn't stand up to being the the focal RB anymore.
Think of Walker sort of like Earl Campbell* except the latter got to roll in straight from college into the NFL. Campbell is easily one of the best RB to ever play in the NFL. He was also pretty much used up by his 4th NFL season. After averaging 351 carries and 1614 yards over those first 4 season he'd only break 1000 one more time.
You have no idea what Walker might have really accomplished in the NFL and obviously a colossal lack of understanding of the talent Walker possessed. That the guy that never even saw the NFL before having more carries than many have in their entire career and then, in many ways,
limp his way to being the #11 total yardage leader in NFL history is nothing short of staggering.
*If you don't know who Earl Campbell is do not be a complete idiot and try to act like you do and yes...he was THAT good until the wheels got worn down.
