Its still very early in my evaluation process, but as of right now my #1 rated prospect in the 2018 NBA Draft is Chandler Hutchison (Boise St). Yes you read that right. He's a super athletic 6'7" SF that reminds me a lot of Scottie Pippen on tape. I like DeAndre Ayton and Mo Bamba a lot as well. They are currently my #2 and #3 rated players. But I just think Hutchison has the chance to be a Scottie Pippen clone in the NBA. And since I consider Scottie Pippen to be one of the ten best players in NBA history, I must have Chandler Hutchison as my #1 rated prospect in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Here's Chandler Hutchison in action for those that haven't seen him play:

Its crazy how much his game resembles Scottie Pippen. Whoever gets him in the draft this year will be getting one of the biggest steals in NBA history.
I don't judge players based on hype, stats, or rings. I watch the tape and judge their impact on the game as well as their skills and ability. Scottie Pippen is easily one of the 10 best players in NBA history. He's the greatest perimeter defender of all-time. Put him on any wing in NBA history and he's locking them up. His length and athleticism are unparalleled. He's also one of the best point forwards of all-time. As good as it gets passing the ball and pushing the pace full court after a rebound. His footwork in the post was also elite for perimeter player.
My Top 10 NBA Players (based on watching them play):
1. Michael Jordan
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Hakeem Olajuwon
4. Shaquille O'Neal
5. LeBron James
6. Scottie Pippen
7. David Robinson
8. Tracy McGrady
9. Kevin Garnett
10. Kevin Durant
This list doesn't include players before the 1990s because I never got to see them play in their prime so I would be doing them an injustice to try and rank them. So out of fairness I have omitted them.
If he made 10 predictions and got 2 right then yeah sure I'd give him props. When you just keep chucking sh*t all the wall till you get a sticky turd or 2 to hang on, then nah no props for you.
I wouldn't even give props for 2/10. 20% success rate isn't what I'd call "good".
Also you have to factor in not only does he get 2/1000 right, the whole time he's telling you how good he is at predicting.
So after a long delay this year, here are my player rankings for the 2018 NBA Draft. I was really busy the past few weeks so that's why ya'll haven't seen me posting anything around here.
So without further ado here are my rankings:
1. SF Chandler Hutchison (Bulls) - NBA comp: Scottie Pippen lite
2. SF Luka Doncic (Mavericks) - NBA comp: taller Ricky Rubio with a jump shot
3. C DeAndre Ayton (Suns) - NBA comp: poor man's David Robinson without the defense
4. C Robert Williams (Celtics) - NBA comp: DeAndre Jordan
5. C Mohamed Bamba (Magic) - NBA comp: Marcus Camby
6. PF Wendell Carter (Bulls) - NBA comp: Horace Grant/Al Horford
7. SG Zhaire Smith (76ers) - NBA comp: taller John Starks
8. SF Michael Porter Jr. (Nuggers) - NBA comp: Marvin Williams
9. PF Marvin Bagley III (Kings) - NBA comp: poor man's Chris Bosh
10. SF Miles Bridges (Hornets) - NBA comp: Corliss Williamson
11. SG Grayson Allen (Jazz) - NBA comp: Bobby Sura
12. PG Aaron Holiday (Pacers) - NBA comp: Jrue Holiday/Darren Collison
12. SG Lonnie Walker (Spurs) - NBA comp: Iman Shumpert
13. PG Collin Sexton (Cavs) - NBA comp: Patrick Beverley
14. SF Kevin Knox (Knicks) - NBA comp: Tobias Harris
15. PF Jaren Jackson Jr. (Grizzlies) - NBA comp: Jonathan Bender with a better shot
As you can see from the player comps, I don't think much of this class. There will not be a true superstar from this group. The only one who can maybe be something close to it is Chandler Hutchison. But even then he will need to keep improving like Scottie Pippen did once he made it to the NBA to reach the level Scottie ultimately reached.
Hutchison was drafted by the Bulls. It's an omen, D4H
He'll be really good in 3-4 years. Just don't expect too much too soon. It also took Scottie Pippen a few years to develop.
The Chicago Bulls will be a contender in due time. I really like the way they're building their team. Zach LaVine (when healthy) is one of the best young players in the NBA. Chandler Hutchison has the potential to be a star as well. And I also really like Wendell Carter.
This trio has a chance to be a poor man's version of the early 90s Chicago Bulls. Zach LaVine being Michael Jordan lite. Chandler Hutchison being Scottie Pippen. And Wendell Carter playing the role of Horace Grant.
