Da Reds thread

Folks we are officially in first place in the division! Just for tonight I’m not going to freak out that our entire starting rotation is on the IL enjoy it boys we deserve this!

I feel good for us non-bandwagon diehard fans. We whine, kick the cat, grumble and pout. But we keep coming back with hope for tomorrow. It feels good for that hope being legit now.

But I want the bandwagons to also get on board. Some of them may figure it out and become like us. The more the merrier.

That is really good news. Looks like Ol' Wil missed his chance at a $250K bonus for winning the NL MVP this year:

Wil Myers

Plus he was our most expensive player behind JV in years past the front office would have simply kept him on the team instead of DFAing maybe we’re making progress.

Krall is going to have to get another bullpen arm or two or else Diaz’s arm is going to fall off from overuse.
Yeah, I don't see why we can't get a couple bullpen arms that can throw more than 1 inning. Of course Diaz made life difficult on himself tonight. I'm sure he's done 'till Friday at the earliest. He's now off for 72 hrs. Sims will be our closer tomorrow if needed

We need more innings from our starters and more bullpen guys who can pitch decently for more than an inning

As for being overworked, Diaz is about where the other top closers are. Doval of the SF Giants has more innings and appearances and Josh Hader has a little fewer.

It is a shame that in a game where you're up 8-2 with 2 outs in the 8th inning that you have to go to your closer. This team's still a work in progress.

Fans are responding. This was the highest attended Tuesday night game in many years

Sums it up nicely. 👍

Ten in a row with AA warming up for tonight. Let's see if he can extend his scoreless streak and it go to eleven.

Not feeling all that good with Weaver against the Braves Friday. Need more cushion.

Make that 11 in a row...and they didn't have to touch Diaz. Buck Farmer got the save.

Ball/strike calls were some of the worst I've seen this year. We're talking 6" higher than the zone called for strikes

Just glad for the W and AA got another quality start. They can use the day off.
