Da' Rick Rogers to Colts

He broke the rules. Period. You surely don't think he got dismissed his first time smoking weed? Its not legal in tn.or with NCAA. He's gone. I loved to watch him play when he was here but never was a thought after he left.myself and I'm sure lots of others would love to have had the opportunities he's had and still is getting..good luck to him but vfl status shouldn't be awarded to someone who didn't end there career even a vol.jmo tho

He's more of a VFL than you, me, or 99% of this board. He made some mistakes and smoked weed, certainly not a qualifier for a "thug". Im sure you have no problem labeling players like Donte Stallworth and Leonard Little as "VFL's" when they have committed exponetially worse offenses than failed marijuana tests.

I don't recall him getting into any trouble after he left Tennessee. Maybe/hopefully being dismissed from the team humbled him and made him realize that he isn't invincible and can't get away with everything he wants to do. I wish him well with the Colts and I hope he flourishes in the NFL. Good luck DR.

You dont pay attention do you..? Have you forgotten his arguments with coaches and trainers? The people who were hired to help him.. The weed is a symptom of his problem, not the cause. DR has issues and they're not unique to him as we have seen talented players waste opportunities before. Dont just think people view him as a thug for smoking weed he has some antisocial personality problems that turn people off.

He argued with coaches-this also makes him a thug? Ignorant.

If DaRick had gone to UGA instead and acted the same way as he did here, most on here would be calling him worse names than "thug".

That doesn't make him a thug. Neither does throwing the Kentucky game because he didn't want to go to a crappy bowl game. Neither does throwing weights at the strength coach. Neither does constantly swearing at the WR coach (who also quit coaching for UT because he wasn't allowed to discipline Da'Rick). Neither does standing over players and taunting them on his new NFL team while also being aware he's on a short leash.

Nope, Da'Rick is not a thug. He is simply a victim of circumstances.

He isn't a thug at this point based on the proper definition of 'thug." He is however to date a jackass, arrogant, and too d$#@ stupid to appreciate the opportunities and privileges he's been repeatedly afforded. Now, Nuke was thug in correct meaning of the word.

Have we set the qualifications for thug yet? If it's just the desire to get high and to fornicate with ladies with a little meat on their bones, I think I meet those standards.

Da'rick is a thoroughbred. I hope to see him running over nfl DBS like he did the honey badger.

Thug? He failed a drug test for marijuana. I think Labor Day weekend has fried alot of people's brains.

Yes, thug! Wasn't Da Rick arrested one weekend in Knoxville with some other players for a fight? I think there were four or five players arrested for a fight and Da Rick was one of them.

The photo on the Knoxville News Sentinel had Da Rick leaving the jail house after he was released.

July 9, 2010, an off duty police officer was assaulted by Da Rick Rogers, Darren Myles Jr. Marlon Walls & Greg King. All four players were arrested.

D. Moore, John Brown and Matt Milton were detained and questioned.

Montori Hughes was present but not questioned.

I wonder how much they pay players on the "practice squad"? And don't other teams get to pick players off other teams practice squads? If he does good on the squad he could end up playing for maybe the Titans. Anyway, I hope he takes this chance with the Colts practice squad & makes the most of the opportunity that's ahead for him to prove he belongs on an NFL team playing on Sundays.

Are you talking about the charges that were rightfully dismissed?

I don't know enough about him as a person nor did I ever say he was a "thug". This thread is not about stallworth or little its about da'rick. I hope the guy the best as a man. But to act like some of the things these athletes do is ok is ridiculous. I know a lot smoke weed, but they know if they get caught what the consequences are. So why defend it?

Not really defending it, but the notion that smoking weed makes one a thug is ridiculous. I dont know him personally, but he has done far less to be labeled a "thug" or not a VFL than many former players we celebrate.

I usually reserve the word thug for incidents that involve firearms or robbery. But there's no doubt DR is immature, selfish, shows very poor judgement, and is not a high character individual.

Which would you choose...

Da'Rick - humbled, realizing the opportunities he threw away and working to get his life straightened out.....or

Da'Rick - the multi-millionaire NFL receiver whose going to make TO's attitude seem tame?

Pretty hard for many 21 year olds to be humble, respectful with a suitcase full of Benjamins...
