Daily Beacon editorial calling out Scotty Hopson

If Hop actually reads it, it probably will. Remember, this is a guy who lets his whole game get affected from one bad miss.

There is no way he didn't hear about this. No way. I know they were on campus on Monday because I saw Prince.

My initial impression was: who the hell is this guy, and why should anybody care what he writes?

Meh, I could see maybe after the first game, or, more appropriately, during the SEC Tournament, but Scotty played pretty well against Ohio. He had 17 and was fairly solid on defense. There's criticism and then there's being a douche and this runs over into douche territory with its over the top tone. Seriously, an entire article that basically sounds like some rant from a schmuck calling into a radio show serves as journalism?

Objective journalism is dead...

He didn't play that well against Ohio. Most his points came in garbage time and he had several bad turnovers. The article was more or less spot on.

Huh? Scotty had a total of three TOs and two late dunks. The article was a week late and, even then, it was pretty weak as far as being real "journalism".

The truth hurts sometimes. Hopson needs to get a chip on his shoulder and unleash it against OSU.

Defense is part of basketball ya know, and all Hop did was shut down Arman Bassett who had scored around 30 points for about 5 straight games. Couple that with his 17 points on an efficient 7-9 effort and that equals a real solid game

Scotty needs to build his confidence and that's hard to do when he just finishes his best game in a while and still gets called out on lack of production...put yourself in his shoes...he DOES care what others think, probably be stronger if he didn't?

Definitely not the right time to write this. Maybe after a clunker, but not after he out scores his average.
