Dan Mullen

Yeah, he sure is knocking down some great competition over there. I had this argument last weekend, and I am more than willing to do it again. What is the best win on Mullen's resume?

A weak Florida and Michigan back in 2010 is just about it. The guy is completely unproven and beats chumps like Troy every year and gets stomped by LSU, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas on normal years.

Derek Dooley team: Couldn't play competitively against good teams.

Dan Mullen team: Can't play competitively against good teams, but managed to beat a Florida team that went 8-5.

I don't understand why, when you look at the facts, suddenly the equation becomes

Tennessee - Derek Dooley + coaching search = Dan Mullen

Sorry out of the names we have heard. I would put Mullen and Strong ahead of most of the others. I am just throwing out there that hes pretty decent. Miss ST is an even worse area to recruit than UT.

Strong is at or near the top for me. Just because a guy beat some bad teams while coaching at a ****hole doesn't make him a good coach. It isn't like Mississippi St. has never had good teams before.

Is Dan Mullen just out of the question now? Seems he has done a incredible job at Miss state. Was on the radar early, but are the NCAA investigations holding back any considerations?

Siap why have I not heard more about Mullen he's done a great job at msu and they have reached about as high as there going to get they just arnt going to compete for the west like Tennessee could for the east

Maybe I missed something but did Tennessee even consider Dan Mullen?? His body of work speaks for itself. He has taken a dead doormat (miss st.) And turned them into a pretty good football team.

I would be ok with Mullen. I would want him over Strong because of his SEC head coaching experience. He is winning games at Mississippi State. That is no easy feat as they have been the Vanderbilt of the SEC West for years. He has had them in the top 25, and he is playing competitively agaist Alabama and LSU. If he can get Mississippi State to that level, imagine what he could possibly do with Tennessee.

Might be a stretch for him to come, given that he's still in progress turning MS around. But I think he's a good guy, and I'd love to have him here.
