Danny White Lobby! Why UT being punished/discredited?

TEX will be the easiest comparison for the committee since we both play 7 of the same SEC teams. The problem is with both of us having played 5 common opponents so far, TEX has a scoring differential of +80 while the Vols only have +16. The UGA game is the only game we have a better scoring differential and it’s only by 1 point. Here are the scoring differentials by opponent when comparing TEX to UT.
MSU +3
OU +21
UGA -1
UF +26
AR +15
The other difference is TX got OU on a neutral site and UGA at home whereas we had both on the road at night.

.500 seemed like an easy reference point. If you acknowledge that Bama's SOS is considerably better than UT's, then complaining about my phrasing seems like some serious nit-picking.
Stop being obtuse. You said Bama had played 10 teams .500 OR above while UT had only played 2 teams OVER .500. Those aren’t the same comparison and you know it. 7 opponents using the same comparison to 10 opponents doesn’t hammer home your argument enough so you selectively change UT’s baseline so you can say it’s 2 teams. That’s disingenuous. Bama’s SOS isn’t “significantly” better than UT’s unless you consider the 16th toughest SOS vs the 18th toughest SOS a significant difference. You can repeat it as many times as you want but the algorithm for determining SOS disagrees with your repeated claim.

The Vols first loss came early in the season, on October 5th on the road. Fayetteville is traditionally a tough place to play and history supports this.

The Vols just lost a road game to arguably a national championship caliber team, in the current toughest place to play in the country. UGA has not lost a home game in 5 years. Let that sink in, 5 years. The Vols, despite how poorly they played in the trenches, was still in the game with about 5 minutes to go. Georgia closed the game out, but until very late in the game, it was anyone's game.

Why, at 8-2 and factoring in these important factors, is Tennessee ranked so low? Why are they considered the bubble playoff team? There needs to be a major push for Tennessee's case and stand up to the corruptness that is becoming the playoff committee.

There is no way to justify Alabama's higher ranking, when they lost to Tennessee and sitting with the same 2 loss record.

Why is Alabama not being negatively impacted by their losses to Vanderbilt and Tennessee? If voters think Tennessee is not as good as Alabama, but Alabama lost to this inferior opponent, how are they being rewarded over said opponent?
This is comical. Bama has a better resume - better wins, a better SOS, better SOR, and better FPI ranking. And they’ve looked dominant their last four games, so they pass the current eye test.

How about we don’t lose to Georgia and the we don’t have to act like whiny babies with our hat in hand trying to convince other people we are good enough. Ask Florida State…it’s not a good look.

Learn from the loss. Do better the next time you get the chance.

Pound both UTEP and Vandy into oblivion and prove your the best on the field.

I have no idea where you're getting those rankings, but in what world is a 20% greater SOS after 10 games not "significantly" better? I have a lot of trouble believing that there is a 20% difference between the 16th and 18 ranked SOSs.

And we beat them

They still win every one of the other data points. If head-to-head was the only criteria Arkansas would be ranked ahead of us, and deservedly so.

We can go in circles all day long with every team in the country. It’s a losing argument.
That’s what this is for to discuss. Mine is that we have the same record and we beat them head to head.

And call me crazy, but I think we can pull out a win against UGA in the playoffs on a neutral field. I think us playing Bama on a neutral field would probably be a loss.

I want a rematch with Georgia before Bama. I fear neither team. But I think Georgia only beat us based on schematics. Physically we were pushing them around in the run game. If Tim Banks and Huepel gameplan better I like our chances to beat them in a rematch.

They didn’t gameplan well the first time. Nothing makes me think they’d do a better job the second time around. Kirby wouldn’t just say “let’s just go do the same thing we did last time, guys.”

This is the same committee that last year chose to leave out an undefeated team while keeping in a team that was caught blatantly cheating just so Bama could get in. The corruption runs deep with this one.
At the AD that was over that cheater program is the head of the committee.

That could be the dumbest comment I’ve read this year.
Heup doesn’t grit his teeth in press conferences and slide the mic towards the press because he is just a nice guy. He is muzzled by his AD who is muzzled by the SEC commissioner. It’s all a business man. If you can’t understand that, it’s on you.

It does, but Texas best win would be Vandy. They looked a helluva lot worse at home vs UGA than we did on the road. I don’t know how much the Texas brand would weigh in on that, but a 2 loss Texas team has a terrible resume.
If Texas loses to A&M then they are the worse of the 2 loss teams. They have no quality wins!

He did it because he doesn’t want to get fined… and let’s bring your argument to its logical conclusion… if Danny White is all about the money, then why wouldn’t he want to lobby for a team that would involve getting more money for the university? I will hang up and listen…

The SOS is easily findable on ESPN but i’ll save you the trouble.
