Competing for championships has a way of changing status quo.I get it. The Fulmer quotes on baseball facilities were pre Covid. I don't want to misquote, but it was along the lines of "nothing crazy" or 'within reason". Status quo as to where UT valued baseball from the beginning. I'm sure it was passed down from on high.
So you undertook a poll and I won? Way much more effort than I would’ve spent on you...Mook. So no one’s criticized him yet BUT your sour tastes and mouths and knocking from him and intense negativity alleged from mean ole tweets from the lil dictator gets spit out in your post. Something isn’t squaring up. I read the same one’s and all I gleaned from it was him asking the fanbase to back the teams. Guess I’m not SENSITIVE enough. Bunch of tender lillies.I’m not electing myself chancellor of anything, you’re just the most bitter poster on Vol Nation. It’s a successful day for the Vols and you come in here complaining about how unfair DW would have been treated if the season went poorly.
Guess what? The season didn’t go poorly! No what if scenarios necessary. It was a huge success. So you tell me I’m drafting some contrived narrative BS when you’re trying to conjure up some scenario that didn’t even happen.
And fair or not fair a large portion of the fanbase had a sour taste in their mouth from when he knocked the fanbase twice about the intense negativity. Fair? Maybe not. But people have the right to feel how they want and a lot of people got upset with the comments.
guys, let’s play nice and go ahead and end the discussion here. A bunch of bantering back and forth isn’t changing anyone’s opinion…..So you undertook a poll and I won? Not “under fire” but he’s damaged and wronged so many. Get it straight. How come I’m the “angry” one when you’re airing the grievances?Quite a bit of anger in defense of an athletic director who isn’t even under fire yet. Like I said, no one is going to judge him unless he fail to keep TV. I have faith he understands the gravity of the situation, and we’ll find out in July when the season is over.
“Tender lillies” aside people felt hurt by his comments. You can call the fanbase soft. You can say it’s unwarranted. It doesn’t really matter. A good portion of fans didn’t like the comments. It’s not really any more complex than that.

The guy has not been here six months. Typical Tennessee fan negativity. No wonder no one wants to work or coach here. If I were White, Heupel, or Vitello I would be looking for a ticket out of this mess. NegaVols rule.
He’s been judged for plenty. Mostly for his less than enthusiastic commentary about the fanbase of the school he is the AD for. And his lackluster football hire. He has not been judged for anything else yet. His next real test is on the horizon though, and it will be a bloodbath if he strikes out. That will be 3 big swings and misses for him while making huge money as our AD.
I’m giving him the BOTD for now, and we’ll see what happens. It’s time for him to get something done rather than continue to criticize our fanbase as being the problem.
Fulmer deserves credit for the Spring sports? How can that claim be made? How many of the coaches did he hire?Absolutely none of the spring success is related to DW. The players and coaches were on campus before DW. The basketball team did better before White was hired but his hiring had nothing to do with their downfall in February and March.
Fulmer earned and deserved the blame he got for the football program circling the drain but with that being said, he does earn the credit for the spring sports success this year.
