Of the four, all four were dismissed. Pettway was allowed back on the team after a year and the massive reduction of his charges. Seriously. Google.

I dont need to use google to know that a kid that played a part in the armed robbery of a student should never step foot on the campus again. Only in Alabama.

Janzen Jackson kept playing for UT. So, not only in Alabama.

http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/11491527/updated-jackson-rejoins-vols-playing-against-kentucky

Prosecutors dropped all charges against Jackson after determining he did not know about the robbery beforehand and did not know anything happened until after the trio left the store.

"To me it's a pretty easy decision," Kiffin said. "If someone's cleared of the situation of any wrongdoing by your police dept and the DA, and your student affairs sees no wrongdoing, I don't know how you punish them.

I dream of the day when the Hillary defense will work for me.

Yeah, im well aware. I was working black friday at Wal-Mart when Trent Richardson was a sophomore. As the legions of rednecks began gathering at the registers to see him leave, we decided to ask walmart to open a back register to let him pat and leave out the back. He spent alot of money then left in a brand new tahoe. I dont remember making that much in college and i had a job.

Let it go man. I partied with John Henderson in an Escalade with Champagne and whiskey on Cumberland . It happens everywhere. The guys in the car were not UT guys, they were guys "looking out for John's future". The same thing happened with me with several Duke basketball players. No big deal, all those dudes get hookups and crazy loans. I honestly have no problem with it.

Lwt what go? I told the guy a story. My problem isnt so much the hook ups but rather the disparity in punishment for an Alabama player and other schools once caught. For reference Maurice Coach and the Alabama players that were caught taking money. The Bama player was suspended two games, Mo was suspended the entire year.

If you were to ask the NCAA, they'd say the difference is that Clinton-Dix received less than $1k, had proof that he paid it back, and Bama self-reported.

If you were to get a truthful answer from someone in Indy, they'd tell you that they gave Couch a year because he was the only one who took money from that runner that was still in college, and they wanted to look like they accomplished something. Because Couch wasn't a huge name, he was an easy target. I said at the time, and still believe, that Couch's punishment was BS.

Thanks for agreeing that Alabama players are treated differently.

I've noticed that you keep bringing this up in other threads despite that fact that you never actually responded to it here. So, if you'd like to discuss it, here's your chance.

I didnt have to respond, someone else did. I didnt agree with Kiffen keeping him on the team, but on the other side, the charges against him were dropped. Dropped, not plead down, dropped. So people in America are innocent until proven guilty.

So, Bama is not the only place where the legal system plays out well for star players.

You suggesting that an innocent person should be convicted because they play football at Tennessee?

You understand the difference between plea bargain and dropping charges dont you?

Did I say that? You brought up armed robbery, not me. I couldn't care less whether Jackson faced any repercussions, legally or on the field.

Do you understand the difference between being presumed innocent and actually being innocent?

I'm feeling better about the situation entirely. I'm as tough as anyone about getting on the highway intoxicated. Sleeping in the car in a parking lot may not have been ideal, but it was better than what was originally published. Hand will be fine and not a stretch to see him playing against the Seminoles.

I'm withholding judgement until I comfirm where the car was parked. If he was parked outside the bar, then he made a good decision but executed it poorly. If it appears that he drove drunk and then pulled over, that doesn't change my opinion very much.

Perhaps even more pressing will be the explanation to Coach Saban. But he's a good kid and excellent student and I went from 0 tolerance to knowing some cops would have cut him a break in that same situation.

Do you understand the difference between being presumed innocent and actually being innocent?

Why should anyone face the legal repercussions of a crime they didnt commit?

The charges against Jackson were dropped, DJ Pettway plead guilty to lesser charges.

The difference between presumed innocent and actually being innocent is irrelevant. Once charges are dropped you face no repercussions of being guilty. But ill take a stab at it. Say for instance a guy was caught with an illegal firearm and marijuana, but a judge says because you work hard in the sun all day, you shouldnt face any legal repercussions. Once that happens you get to return to life as normal, as an innocent person.

Lol, Saban got to those cops quick and told them you better make this seem less than what it is, i need this guy for Florida state. And the next time one of my guys does something you better just call me with his jersey number, or just drop my daughter off at the house and ill handle it.

You really don't see the hypocrisy here? You presume everything was done totally legally and legit in Tennessee situations, but presume backwood, cutting slack, going under the table at Bama. Fascinating really

Uhm no, Jackson = charges dropped remains with team
Tim Williams = charges dropped remains with team
DJ Pettway = pleads guilty to lesser charge, still plays football at Alabama.
