Their actions, as reported, were practically identical. Neither actually participated in the robberies, but both were present and left with those that did.

Funny you took out the guy equivalent with Jackson.

What i find funny about has nothing to do with the legal aspects, but that folks in ttown are okay with allowing a guy back on campus after playing an active role, in armed robbery of another student on campus.

Actually, by definition, he played a passive role.

I'm feeling better about the situation entirely. I'm as tough as anyone about getting on the highway intoxicated. Sleeping in the car in a parking lot may not have been ideal, but it was better than what was originally published. Hand will be fine and not a stretch to see him playing against the Seminoles.

lol, you were actually worried?

Yeah, college kids driving 60k cars, awesome.

This is not isolated to Alabama. This goes on everywhere, and I imagine UT players also get some nice under the table benefits. Brother graduated from Clemson several years ago and routinely saw James Davis driving around in an Escalade even though his mother did not work and his father was a custodian if I remember correctly. Never panned out in the NFL, but was good enough in college alongside CJ Spiller to have somebody paying the lease on the Cadillac.

Lwt what go? I told the guy a story. My problem isnt so much the hook ups but rather the disparity in punishment for an Alabama player and other schools once caught. For reference Maurice Coach and the Alabama players that were caught taking money. The Bama player was suspended two games, Mo was suspended the entire year.

You told a story about a college football player spending money at Wal Mart and remarked about the nice car he was driving. I just said it's not uncommon, basically nothing to see here. Vince Carter drove a Range Rover at UNC, Jay Williams drove an S Class, Carlos Boozer drove a Navigator, they get a loan for future earnings with an astronomical Percentage rate and pay out the ass for it when they sign with an agent.

I do agree that the NCAA is a joke and there needs to be a level playing field for penalties.

I told that story just cause ol boy wanted to deflect the conversation away from the criminals on the football team.

Don't get confused, this is Alabama. We don't count our championships until we play them.

uh yeah, sure. or dig up fifty year old news paper clippings to claim some more.

did you actually think Hand was actually going to miss time? even if he was found to have been driving under the influence.

I believe some of these guys get approved for car loans based off future earnings. A dealer will approve credit if he thinks the guy can indeed pay it off next year or two. Peerless Price and AL Wilson as well as Ron Slay all drove big SUVS. in fact Slay had the first generation Cadillac Escalade.
