Dave Clawson, one year later

If you have the right personnel you can make the same play work ten times in a row. Weird how Chris Todd threw for 21 TD's and 6 INT's under Malzan, when he had 5 TD's and 6 INT's under Franklin. Weird how Crompton had a much better year in 2009 with a putrid OL. I have no problem with "new age" offense, I just like pro-style cause you get pro-quality players.

Todd also had an injured throwing arm in 2008.

Phil bleeds orange? give me a break. Phil bleeds green, always has and always will. Go back and look at the drafts the past 5 yrs and tell me where ole Phil had the Vols poised to go into the NFL. Phil was like a plane that had lost it's engines and was going down in a spiral. When you have Vandy and KY sending more players to the pros then the Vols, guess what there is a serious problem.

As far as the drinking comments go, Majors was a grown man and if he wanted to drink on his own time so be it. Phil is not the golden boy you make him out to be.

As far as CLK goes, yes I support him but I support him because he shows grit and determination and disclipine. The all orange Fulmer was only interested in staying around long enough to get the record from Neyland no matter how many years it was going to take. He also was going to milk UT for every penny he could along the way while being mediocre.

whatta got on Phil

Can't believe there are still Fulmerites. The fact that he has been out of work for over a year now speaks volumes about what the rest of college football thinks about his coaching ability.

It does not speak volumes about anything. Everybody that wanted another job got one. I don't think Phil really wanted another job right away. He needed some time to get over people like you.

What speaks volumes is that all his assistants got jobs real quick and Chavis is being pursued again by Georgia. I can't believe there are still haters like you around with nothing else to do.

Good gracious man. Who wouldn't take the money when it was in their contract and people like you are around spewing hate. I hope he enjoys it.

Phil, buy yourself a Krispy Kreme.

Big deal, I go back further than the Dickey era. I cheered for Bowden Wyatt teams on the radio. But I am just another Vol.

Johnny drank too much, got conservative with a lead and loved to run the ball like all good coaches. While he was out they played hard for Phil and won. Johnny came back too early and things did not go well so Phil looked even better. As many people wanted a change then as they did this time.

Phil is not a drinker, works to help others and does not deserve the crap some of you spew. If Phil had a year like the one past you would be howling for his head. But you love Kiffin for this record? Many of your are just invested in Kiffin and forgive anything he does because you howled for Phil to go.

I hope Kiffin succeeds, but quit acting like Obamaites and blaming Phil (Bush) for anything that goes wrong or went wrong. There is no reason to go after Phil like some of you do. Dude still bleeds orange and gave me the only National Championship in my lifetime.

Are you really implying that George Bush wasn't an emphatic failure? At least CPF managed to win a BCS NC. George Bush and Phil Fulmer are not the type of men that I would want to lead my son...

your son's safe
GWB's not the Commander in Chief any longer, and Phil's not coaching
